High School: Junior Year

Theo's POV

It's the first day of junior year in high school and I was excited. I woke up and got changed into my outfit I chose last night and did my hair.

This is the outfit and the hair.

I go downstairs and smell waffles. I reach the kitchen and see my dad making them.

"Morning dad!" I sit down in front of my waffles.

"Morning! Excited for your first day of school?"

I nod as I start eating my waffles.

"Clean up once you're done ok? I'm going to check on your mom..." He headed up the stairs leaving me alone downstairs. Mom's illness has gotten worse and worse since she got diagnosed and dad has been spending a lot of time with her. Dad hasn't been to work in a while but mom insists that he should go back to work but dad won't listen. I finished up my breakfast and cleaned up. I headed upstairs to my room and heard mom and dad talking but I didn't eavesdrop I just went straight into my room. I grabbed my backpack and took my phone. As I was going downstairs I got a text from Philip.

Philip: Hey you ready for school today?

Theo: Yep are you ready?

Philip: I sure am I hope we have some classes together.

Theo: Me too well see you at school!

Philip: See ya!

Philip has been helping me ever since mom's condition got worse. He was always there for me.

Philip's POV

I couldn't wait to see Theo again! When I texted her I was already dressed and I waited for Angie, mom, and dad to come.

Pip cut his hair but it's still poofy no worries.

They soon came downstairs and we headed to the car.

I could drive already so I'm going to drive to school and Angie is coming with me. Our parents waved goodbye to us and I started driving.

"Ready to see your girlfriend again Pip?" Angie said teasing me.

"We already went over this Angie! She's not my girlfriend..." Saying that kind of pained me since I knew she wasn't mine.

"Whatever you say but I know you wish she was!" We didn't talk the rest of the way there. I parked the car and we headed to the front gate.

"Hey Philly!" The voice sounded familiar so I turned around and saw Will.

"Hey Will!"

"What's your schedule?"

I pull out my phone showing my schedule.

"Aw dang we have no classes together! At least I'll see ya at lunch!"

"Yeah! Well I'll see ya at lunch then Will!"

"Bye Philly!"

I start heading to my first class which is science and in the hallway I bump into someone.

"Oh sorry I should-" I look at the person and it's Theo!

"Theo!"

"Pip!" We hug each other for a brief moment and separate.

"Which class are you going to right now Theo?"

"Science you?"

"Me too! What teacher?"

"Seabury."

I looked at my schedule and saw I have the same teacher as her.

"Me too! Do we have all the same classes?" We put our phones together that shows our schedule and saw that we have all the same teachers.

"Well now I know someone in all of my classes." I smiled at Theo.

"Same here." She smiled back at me.

We started heading to Seabury's class and we were talking the whole way there. We reached the class and sat next to each other. Everyone else found a seat and Mr. Seabury got up from his seat.

"Good morning class my name is Mr. Seabury and I'm your science teacher. The person sitting next to you will be your science partner for the rest of the year."

Theo's POV

Great! Philly is my science partner for the whole year! We didn't do much in class Mr. Seabury just explained most of the rules and we introduced ourselves in front of the class. The next period me and Pip had was math and our teacher is Mrs. Reynolds. We weren't even halfway into the period when my name was called from the intercom.

"Theodosia Burr you're going home." The intercom said and the class was silent as I left. I went up to the office and saw my dad. He looked really stressed but I didn't know what was going on.

"Your mom is in the hospital." Dad looked really pained.

I was shocked when he said that. I just froze it seemed like the whole world just stopped. Next thing I know I'm in the car and we're driving to the hospital.
