18- Food Fight

Matthew's POV

Could this week get any worse? IT'S SO FRUSTRATING!!

I just got a call from Boss saying that he found out that Josh has quit. He threatened me that he will hurt my family if I don't get him back on the team.

I can't let that happen. Dang it. I should've helped Kendra. I just got so annoyed that I just didn't want to talk to anyone. I'm so dumb.

How do I do this now?

...................AHA! I know something.

I opened my backpack and got out a sticky note. I wrote a little message that seemed convincible (at least to me). I then went to Josh's locker and stick it on there.

I hope this will work....I mean....it WILL work. He always is gullible.

I then went to find Kendra. I saw her at her locker with mixed up emotions: sad, angry, disappointed, happy? That's weird.

I went up to her and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around and sigh and said,

"Look Matthew-"

I cut her off saying, "Meet me at our usual eating place. I have something to say to Josh."

"Wait why-"

"Just do it." And I walked away and went to class.

I walked in and saw that I was late since everyone was sitting at the desks already. I sneaked in to not get caught and found and empty desk...next to Josh.

Well that is awkward.

We go through the class without talking but silently glancing to see what the other person is doing.

By the end of class, I quickly get up like my seat is on fire and quickly run to the door, until I felt a tap on my shoulder.

I turn around to see that it was Josh who tapped me.

He said, "What is it that you wanted to tell me about?"

"I'll tell you at lunch."

We both walk to the cafeteria only to see Anna, Owen, and Riley talking at the lockers. I look from far distance only to see Zachary, Tiffany, Savannah, and Heather trying to eavesdrop. Where's Liliana?

We make it in the cafeteria and got our lunch to sit at our usual table. Man, it feels different.

We wait there for a few minutes only to see Kendra walking towards us and sitting down. We make eye contact then start eating our lunch.

I break the silence saying, "I called you guys here today to say that-"

Kendra- "Just tell us already. I'm sacrificing my reading time to listen to your big mouth of yours."

Me- "If you would let me finish then you would have already known by then. Anyways, I called you guys today to say that this team is messed up and that we need to fix it."

Kendra-"No dip Sherlock." While rolling her eyes.

Me- "Would you just shut up for me please?!"

Kendra- "Why would I shut up if that's what I have been trying saying for the past week?! But NO, you didn't listen and just rejected me and all of a sudden, (in a mocking deep voice) 'Oh I have an idea. Let me fix this team up. Oh I'm so smart and don't need anyone to help me.' Well too bad buddy, you're not the only one to think that and to finally realize what I have been trying to say to you just to make you seem like it's your idea to make you look like the good guy, well you're wrong. So you know what, if you want to do it so badly then just do it yourself."
