2.30 am walks

Cold, icy wind flew through the streets. The sky pitch black if you ignore the thousands and thousands of white specks we call stars in it. Not a single window had light shining out of it and all you could hear were the sounds of a nearby river carefully flowing through the village and the wind shaking the leaves of the trees.

Not a single soul was awake, every single living thing sleeping. Every one expect for Alana. She was everything else than sleeping, and far from tired. But that wasnt really anything new. Her 2.30 am walks through the dead, dark village were normal by now. She needed this time to herself. Not like she could get it any other time. Alana wrapped her coat tighter around her as a gush of biting wind flew through the lonely streets. Winter, the time of the year Alana hated the most. Her footsteps and her quiet, steady breath creating a beat in her ears as the river formed a slow melody. Alana let her thoughts flow. Before she knew it Alana was sitting in the middle of the forest, by the very same river that would eventually form its way through the village. Despite the freezing water, Alana took of her shoes and dipped them in to the flowing liquid beneath her. Her body trebled slightly with the fresh touch of icy water on her feet but she quickly got used to it.

After an hour or so of just sitting there, thinking Alana decided it was time to carry on with her nightly walk. Slowly slipping back in to her shoes as the wind made the ancient trees whisper stories long forgotten. Alana felt a shiver go down her spine feeling rather scared at that moment. She quickly shook that feeling off though and made her way to a little hill nearby. As soon as she arrived she sat down right in the middle of the hill, gazing in to the stars, enjoying the deadly silence while it lasts. She started humming a melody that randomly appeared in her head. It was a mysterious melody, scary and calming at the same time. Alana watched as the stars slowly faded and the sky turned in to a lighter dusty blue, later fading im to a beautiful pink. Sunsets and sunrises had always been one of Alanas favourite thing, next to the billions of starts on a warm summer night. Of course Alana enjoyed the winter skies as well but the wouldn't quite catch her as much as the Summer ones did.

The tiny amount of snow on the ground started sparkling as the sunbeams hit them. Alana decided it was time to go home. Making her way back to the, this time not so dead village, Alana didn't feel as comfortable as she did when she was alone. She wasn't very fond of people, and she liked to enjoy her time all by herself.
