Here's a little filler chapter about (y/n) and school. This takes place a little bit after the group gets signed with Salem.

(Y/n) had a deadpan look on his face, he was looking at a poster for a Mother/son and father/daughter dance for seniors. Not really thinking about it He went to his first period class pre-cal. (Y/n) was a smart enough kid to have a's and b's for his report cards though, in his last year he felt a little bit of senioritis. (Y/n) brushed it off and continued on with the rest of the class.

As his classes went by but, that dance kept going on his head. (Y/n) daydreamed about going with his mother or just seeing her one more time would be enough for him. Lunch came around and he sat alone, luckily nobody would pay attention to him but, that wasn't the case when he signed with Salem. Here and there a couple of junior's and sophomores would recognize him and ask for pictures. Still, he was alone here, (Y/n) then came up with an idea, he would ask Salem to go with him. She had a very big mother like aura and (y/n) enjoyed being around her.

When school was over he called Cinder to pick him up and began to tell her his idea.
(Y/n):Do you think she would go?
Cinder:Of course she would, she should still be in her office so I'll wait outside for you. Good luck!

(Y/n) smiled at her and hurried to Salem's office. He was met with her doing some paperwork and coughed to get her attention.

Salem:(y/n), what do I owe for this little surprise.
(Y/n): Um, I wanted to ask you something, something important.
Salem:On with it then.
(Y/n):W-well there is this dance for the seniors, it's a mother/son dance. I knew about this for a while before my mother passed and never got to ask her. So, I want to take you if that's ok?

Salem got up from her chair and walked up to (Y/n). She looked at him dead in the eyes (you're taller than her by a foot) and hugged you. Slowly you hugged back and she spoke.

Salem:You really think of me as your mother! My baby boy!
(Y/n):Yes, I do, you remind me so much of my own mother. So what do you say Ma?
Salem: What did you call me?

(Y/n) quickly let go of her and started to apologize. She hushed him and brought (y/n) into another hug.

Salem: I would love to go with you son! My little starlight!
(Y/n): Funny, mom used to call me that.
Salem:I love you
(Y/n): I love you too, ma

They stayed like that until they heard sniffling behind them. The two of them turned around to see Cinder and the rest of the band with Cinder crying her eyes out. (Y/n) smiles looking at his family and bringing them all into a group hug. Little did (y/n) know Mj had recorded the whole thing and sent it to RWBY.

These next couple of days Mj and Cinder tried to help (y/n) get a nice suit. They took him to many clothes stores and a couple of flower shops just to add another kind moment. It took forever to find a suit They all agreed on (Y/n) came out with the perfect one.

Finally, it was the night of the dance and (y/n) was waiting for Salem in the lobby of the record studio

Finally, it was the night of the dance and (y/n) was waiting for Salem in the lobby of the record studio. When she came down there was only one word to describe to what he saw. Beauty.

Salem:Close your mouth dear, you'll catch flies

Salem:Close your mouth dear, you'll catch flies.
(Y/n):Lets g-go

When They arrived there was the entire class of 2019 dancing with their parent or with friends. (Y/n) being the nervous wreck he is was asked to dance by Salem and he happily agreed to.

It went on like that the whole night, (Y/n) being happy with Salem. He truly did feel the mothers warmth he wanted to feel so badly again. With Salem you could tell (y/n) was the son she always wanted and was happy to be with him
