My eyes connect with his, through the cracked mirror on the wall. He stands behind my handcuffed self, and his hand tightly grips the black leather whip, which was dipped in silver.

My shirt has been ripped in half and tossed aside, leaving me on all fours in just my sport's bra. His eyes keep on shifting in colour, darkening whenever he attempts to hit me, lightening when he retracts. He's battling with himself, not to mention his wolf.

I know all of this, for I have strange but accurate senses. I might have been left without a wolf, but I gained a gift, one unexplainable in words but in actions. I can detect a person's emotion, their thoughts, a bit of their history, the cause behind a reaction, and more.

Sometimes I neither understand or make sense of what I speak. I just need to speak. I'm usually a silent person, an observer, and a listener.

" Shit." He grumbles under his breath, being conflicted on what to do.

It's his first time dealing with something like this. The mate bond is the wall that pevents him from doing anything, or maybe even my gift, who knows. My brother once said in a drunken state, that there's something about my eyes, that just speak.

Until this day, I have never understood it.

" You can't do it," I say, my eyes not moving from the mirror.

" Shut up and look away!" He growls, and his eyes darken.

" I want to look the alpha in the eyes, as he punishes me."

For some reason, he staggers back, his eyes being kept on me. The whip drops from his hand.

I break eye contact and he breathes out.

" Don't you ever dare, lay your eyes on me again." He warns.

His heavy footsteps move behind me, metal clatters against metal, and then I sense him approach me, where he yanks at my hair, forcing my head to tilt upwards. This causes for my eyes to look up and connect with his.

" Dammit, you dare defy me!" He grunts, holding up his hand, and something silver passes my eye sight.

It's a silver knife, which he now holds with a gloved hand. I tense up, as I'm brought back to earlier memory of him stabbing me, without a second thought.

Maybe this time he might just finish the job.

I close my eyes and take a breath, awaiting my fate.

"Do it, if it will ease your troubled heart." I murmur.

" I said shut up!!!" He booms, shoving me forward. This results to my head hitting against the floor.

I hiss in pain, as a major headache starts.

I whimper back when the knife clatters beside me. The cuffs dig into my skin, my hands having twisted a bit, due the fall.

I can't move, my head feels fuzzy.

" Alpha." I hear at a distance.

" Take her to the infirmary." He orders." Now!!!" He booms.

I flinch at the tone of his voice.

" Yes, Alpha." That's the last I hear, before I'm lulled into darkness.

                              ********

" What are you doing here?" He asks me.

I don't say anything.

" You shouldn't be here," he mumbles.

I peek at him, and my lips lift into a small smile.

" I see that you're all healed up now, that's good." I tell him.

" You shouldn't be here." He repeats, shaking his head from where he sits, against the wall.

" Then who else?" He shoots me a ' really ' look. In other words, his words, he means my brother.

" I should just tell the alpha. You can't fall for your brother's sins." He growls lowly in disapproval.

Travis, he is the beta of the Mystic Range Pack and the boy who saved my life, when I was young. He has grown into a handsome, tall man, with intimidating muscles, dirty blonde hair, and light blue eyes. He's always had a kind heart under all that muscle, I bet he spoils his mate rotten.

" How are you? Are you happy?" I ask, changing the topic.

" Apart from what's happening, yes I am. I found my mate and she's amazing." I smile again, seeing contentment on his face.

" She is. She has satisfied and fulfilled your heart. I'm happy for you." I tell him honestly.

" And you? Did you find your mate?" My smile slips off my face, where a blank look takes over.

He notices my change in demeanor and opens his mouth to speak, but the opening of the door beats him to it. Our heads turn to the new arrival.

It's Kylie, his mate. Her eyes move between Travis and I, and an unknown emotion shifts in her eyes.

" Kylie." Travis breathes out, rising to his feet and walking over to her. He pulls her close to him and steals a kiss.

I glance away, giving them their moment of privacy.

" Come, I want you to meet someone." I hear him say, and that's when my eyes snap to them, as they approach me.

Her brows scrunch together.

" Meet my mate Kylie." He wraps his arms around her waist, burying his face in the crook of her neck.

Kylie tries to avoid my gaze.

" We've already met." I speak up.

Both their eyes snap to me. Kylie's show uneasiness while Travis's eyes, reel in curiosity.

" You are right, she's amazing, the perfect mate for you. Your true defender. " I say in truth, having looked past what happened in the cells.

" Do you see baby? You never believe me when I tell you that you're amazing, now Kat has confirmed it. She has great sense about people." He says in a ' I told you so ' kind of tone.

" Kat?" She whispers out.

" Yeah, remember the little girl I used to tell you about? Well, this is her. The girl who saved my life."

Her eyes widen, blinking twice as if she's been hit by something.

The door opens and this diverts our attention. A bulky, very handsome man walks in, with brown, reddish hair nicely cut, blue green small eyes hard, as he looks at Travis. The man is hard to resist to many females, werewolf or human. Though he might not return their advances, he's got that special thing which lures females in, even mated ones.

" I've been given orders to take the lady to the white room."

A chill runs down my spine then. Something tells me that it's not some conference room, it's more than that.

" Evan." I get off the bed way too fast, that I stagger back.

" I'm okay." I murmur, holding my hand up, to stop Travis from coming near me.

I take a breath and look at the man called Evan. " I'm ready."

Evan nods, handcuffing me once again, where the cuffs have just easily dug, into my now tender skin. I glance at the couple next to me, giving them a reassuring smile before I let Evan lead me out.

I mentally try to prepare myself for what's to come, not exactly knowing what to expect, but will take it either way. Like I said before, no argument nor disagreement.
