-Caleb-

I hummed cheerily as we made our way out of the forest. The sun was barely peeking over the horizon, giving us more light to see by. Kai walked silently just in front of me and Skylar was behind me. It had been quiet for most of the walk here.

Breaking the silence, Skylar asked, "Was the village really that bad?"

"Can we not talk about it?" Kai said, shutting her down.

"This is the place," I said, gesturing to the small hut we had built up ahead.

"Looks nice," Skylar commented as we paused outside the door.

"So... the others do not really know we have told you yet..." Kai started slowly.

"What? Does that mean they're going to be mad? And mean? And mad?" Skylar asked.

"Let us find out," he answered awkwardly, then opened the door and went inside. "Hey guys..." he greeted.

"Look who we brought..." I added, following him in.

"Hi..." Skylar said, stepping out from behind me.

"What is she doing here?" Mack asked accusingly.

"We could not just leave her there!" Kai retorted.

"Do you realize that she could tell the entire village?!" Mack continued.

"She is not telling anyone! Trust me! If she breathes a word of this I will deal with her myself!" Kai answered, turning to Skylar at the last part.

"I won't, I promise," she defended.

"You sure about that?" I pressed. Max stood silently to the side.

"Yes. Look, I can tell you guys need to work this out, and I need to see someone about something, so I'll leave for a little bit," Skylar said.

"You are not telling anyone!" Mack warned.

"I won't," she assured. She turned around and left, shutting the door behind her.

"Safe travels," Kai called after her, his voice wavering. This was not quite the reception we had hoped for.

-Stephanie-

I was pulling the last of the weeds out of our little farm by only the light of the street lanterns when Skylar walked up to me out of the night.

"Hey Steph," she greeted, stopping beside me.

"Hey Skylar! Where have you been?" I asked, giving her a hug. She had been gone for ages.

"Yeah sorry, I've been busy. I wanted to tell you that I'm not coming back," she said, shuffling her feet around.

"Why? Where did you go?" I asked, looking into her eyes.

"I can't say, just don't follow me. Bye," she said, not making eye contact.

Then she turned and walked down the path out of town. I paused a moment before running to Jane's house, her and Rose inside.

"Oh hey, what's up?" Jane greeted.

"Skylar just came back," I said. Rose looked out the window expectantly and I added, "She left. She said she's not coming back. I think she's in trouble."

"Should we follow her?" Jane asked.

We all nodded in silent agreement, there was no question about it. Rose and I ran to get our stuff and we met up and quickly headed after Skylar before she could disappear.

-Skylar-

I was walking alone through the trees, my conversation with Steph still ringing in my head. I felt bad about leaving them, especially with no explanation, but I couldn't get them involved. It was going to be interesting enough with the boys. I couldn't let them know what was going on.

I kept getting the unmistakable feeling of being watched and wondered if I was being followed. I glanced back several times but didn't see anything. The third time I turned around, Steph and Jane were behind me.

"Hi!" Steph greeted in her signature fashion.

"Why are you guys here? Where's Rose?" I asked.

They both looked around and Steph said, "Well, we kind of lost Rose, but she should find us soon."

"Yeah," Jane agreed.

"And what are you guys doing?" I pressed.

"Nothing," Jane answered.

"We thought you might've needed some help," Steph said.

"Do you understand how much trouble you'll be in? She's coming!" I exclaimed.

"Who?" they both asked.

"Miss T!"

-Alena-

Miss T was busy when Wynter and Lea came in.

She glanced up and coldly asked, "What is it?"

Wynter started making signals with her hands and Lea watched intently before she turned to Miss T and said, "If I'm interpreting this right, she didn't do it."

"So the little rat didn't get the map. Take Lucifer and burn the village," Miss T said.

"Yes ma'am," Lea nodded.

"Will do," Lucifer laughed, moving from her side.

"Also, if you see her, you know what to do," Miss T added.

"Gladly," Lucifer said, a grin spreading across his face.

Lucifer, Lea, and Wynter all left, leaving only Miss T and me.

-Wynter-

We arrived at Arcadia Oaks as Lucifer stopped in front of the candle-lit welcome sign.

He looked at me, then at Lea and slowly said, "This is going to be a blast."

Then he continued walking and we followed, weapons drawn.
