But unlike the first time, she wasn't lost this time. She had been yearning to see him.
That is where the burial services are being held. It was already spring in Korea and the cherry blossoms on the either side of the road is looking so pretty with the pink flowers.
Everyone was wearing a gloomy look on their faces. It was the opposite of the morning sunshine that welcomed her earlier.
She started walking towards his direction. Their eyes met and, in an instant Joon Young reflected all the emotions he was feeling inside through his eyes.
But despite the sadness, he smiled at her. The same genuine smile he gave her the night before he left. "annyeong," itinaas pa nito ang kaliwang kamay nito biglang pagbati.
"annyeong," she said. "Jal jinae shutsuyo?"
Upon hearing what she said, Joon Young's smile widened. Again, she asked him how he was doing. It was a stupid question to be honest. But seeing him smile like that made her feel...okay. He threw away the cigarette he was holding and took big strides towards her.
Joon Young buried his face in her hair while she pressed her face in his chest.
She hugged him tighter. This is what she came for—sharing his pain. His pain is hers too and she'll take the responsibility of doing it for a long long time.
"Neomu haengbukae-yo," he whispered in her ear. "Jinjja."
"Um, I hate to cut the mood," aniya sa binata at nag-angat siya ng tingin dito.
"hindi ko naiintindihan ang sinabi mo." During her spare time, she tried learning to speak Korean. Despite the tears that are running freely on his cheeks, he smiled with what she said. "I'm happy Julia. I am very happy now," sabi nito sa kanya. "But I hate that I'm crying front of you again."
Hinawakan niya ang pisngi nito at pinahid ang luha nito. Come to think of it, she's been wiping his tears a lot of times now. He's been surrendering himself to her by showing her his weak side. She preferred seeing him cry because she knew she is the only one he permitted to see him in this state.
His tired, tired eyes closed as she kissed them. "I don't mind seeing you cry because it makes you stronger in my eyes.
Wala itong sinasabi, ngunit naiintindihan niya ang nais nitong sabihin sa kanya—he was thankful and happy. She smiled at him.
"I know," he said. "That's why I am happy right now. You always make me happy and moving forward, pangako kong ikaw naman ang papasayahin ko. Thank you for waiting for me. I promise, I won't let you go this time."
"That's all I need to hear," she said and closed the gap between them. "B-bakit?"
"I just smoked—"
"I know," aniya. "...and that's why I want to kiss you. It reminds me of the time I kissed you the first time."
Joon Young despite the tears, he smirked at her and without further ado, he dipped his head towards her and their lips met.
