On An Autumn Day

Chapter 1

Hey, I'm Violet Drew.

I'm what they call a nerd at school and someone that people just don't think they should waste their time knowing that I exist.Something that I actually quite like!I get pretty good grades and love those cheesy romance novels.Ive always liked the idea of love but let's face it ,stuff that happen in books never really happen in reality and I think we all know that and if you don't ,YOU SHOULD!

I live in a small town in New York and go to high school that feels the need to be very dramatic.The one that causes the most drama or nonsense is the "queen bee" as I like to call her-Rachel Stewart and the schools "bad boy" Dylan Larson. He's annoying, obnoxious, rude and VERY hot I might add.I have all classes with him and am his lab partner(lucky me😒).

My best friend Lily meets me at the front of the school so we can walk together to my house,a couple blocks away.Usually we take her car but we decided to walk today since it was just a little cold outside.Its the end of September so it usually gets a little chilly during the afternoon.Personally fall is my favorite season.The colors on trees are just so beautiful and I love it when it's cold so that I can snuggle in a blanket all day and watch Netflix.

Me and Lilly have almost arrived to my house and are currently talking about a new coffee shop opening across the street.We finally arrive and open the front door with my spare key.We get in and head in the kitchen for my favorite thing in the world...FOOD!!! Lily decides on a bag of gold fish with lemonade and I settle for a nutella sandwich and a glass of milk. My mom works as a doctor so she's mostly out of the house and my dad works as an book writer.Usually he travels to different places to get "inspiration" as he calls it for his book.

"So,how was your math test today?" Lilly asks me "I think I did pretty good!" I answer truthfully.We had this big test for math today that I've been studying for weeks now.she groans, "next time, you help me study"."You know I don't do well on these tests without studying with someone"! I just laugh and roll my eyes thinking she has way better grades than me in every subject except math.

When lily leaves an hour later I decide to take a walk in the woods to read a book I started reading recently.Its my favorite place to just relax and to take in what's around me and just not give a crap about what's actually happening in the world surrounding me.People are just so judgmental and you sometimes just need to think about the the things that actually matter in life.

I change from my usual jeans and T-shirt into some leggings and cozy grey sweater.I quickly grab my book and phone from my desk top and head out locking the door behind me.
