Chapter One:

The wind howling through the snow covered winter trees, the cold smell of winter danced through the air. Brushing the snow from the tree tops, casting a light fog around the field. The moon held high, being the only light shining through on the break of the forest. Where we all stood in waiting. The uncertainty in the silence hanging over our heads, waiting for the first sign of the trespassers. Across the field dark red eyes started to appear, breaking the white mist from the snow. Their low pitched growls broke the silence, after hearing the command everyone around me started letting their inner wolf take control. Soon so did I. Though I don't remember much from the fight, there were a lot of people injured, on both sides. After the last enemy was gone. The pack started to head back to the cabins to heal and rest from the fight. Extra patrol was placed outside in case this was a distractions, and in case we missed anyone. Doubtful though Alpha wouldn't let that happen, he always put the packs safety before anything. It all went dark, letting myself take control and shifting back into human form, leaving me exposed to the winter crisp breeze as I made my way into the family cabin. After changing and washing all of the dried blood from my sore wounded body, I found myself outside on the balcony that lead out from my room.

The moon was high and full, the wind has calmed and the snow had rested into a thick fresh layer covering everything in sight. Just over the tree line you could see the  tall buildings from the town just miles away. Every so often a new town, new people, new identities. The clan moves from place to place to avoid the clan that has ruled over us for as long as we can remember. The Sixers, a pack of six family lines that rule together. They have territory almost everywhere in the world. And that's their goal, to be the only surviving clan of Werewolves surviving. Just in the past six months they have overthrown 17 smaller packs, and 4 of our packs allies. They kill in periods of six months of killing and death and constant dreadfulness that we might be next. Then once it hits the seventh month it's like they never existed before, no mention or leads on their location. Like they dropped off the side of the earth.

The clan I was born and brought up in, The Blood Moon clan. We used to rule everything, and live at peace, until there was a mate pair who ended up having a tri- mating. Meaning three people were mated to each other, unlike a regular mating between just two people. The mates being from The blood moon and the Sixers packs. One of the mates got jealous of the other two and killed them, the one doing the killing was one of our clan members. Which in turn started a war between both of the packs. Ever since we have been on the run, constantly watching our backs.

After Standing there for a few hours, listening to the sounds coming from the town just a little bit away. Knowing that the following day I had to go there, being that I'm only 17 I still have to attend school. Otherwise people start to question a group of people living in the middle of the woods, who don't send anyone to school. It would sound weird to anyone who lives there. It's not a very big town from what I have heard from my Dad, There are a few of us who will be attending the school. Ashton, My brother, and his friends Carson and Lena. And then just a few more clan families kids. Normally there isn't very many of us. Being that we are traveling so much, most of the families wouldn't want to move their families as much as we do.

It had torn my family apart, my mom was killed in a fight when me and Ashton were little. I remember my Dad always being there growing up. But then he was always being pulled away for work, then once Ashton and I got old enough we started training with the other members of the pack. I guess that's what happens when your dad is the Alpha, our relationship hasn't been the best ever since he started forcing Ashton and to train and train. There was even a point when he wanted us training all hours of the day.

It's always the same new school, new friends, new enemies. Same old cycle. I decided it was time to head in when I saw the sun coming up from the east side of the forest where we had just been not even a day before fighting for our safety. I decided to lay down, and attempt to get at least an hour of rest before I had to head to the living hell of all normal teenagers. High school.
