We reached the hospital and everything was still a blur to me. I couldn't handle everything that was happening. Dad was so stressed and I could see he was trying his best not to cry. We were in the waiting room while they were taking care of the condition mom was in. Many hours passed and no news about mom yet. Dad decided for me to stay home since I still had school tomorrow and he didn't know how long this would take. So we drove back home and dad went off to the hospital again. I got hungry so I made mac n cheese I know it isn't much but it was all I could make at the moment. It tasted so good and when I finished I cleaned up and went to my room. I changed into my pajamas and brushed my teeth. Once I climbed into my bed I got a text from Philly.
Philip: Hey why did you leave school early today? Is everything okay?
Theo: My mom's in the hospital...
Philip: Oh no! I hope she's okay.
Theo: Me too but everything is in a blur I can't lose my mom I can't...
Philip: Everything will be alright. I promise. Remember I'm here for you.
Theo: Thanks Pip I'll remember that.
Philip: No problem!
Theo: It's pretty late I'm going to bed night Philly.
Philip: Night Theo sleep well.
I really had trouble going to sleep but I managed to see drift off into a deep sleep. I woke up the next morning and dad wasn't home yet. I figured he stayed the night at the hospital. I got dressed and went downstairs and I got a text from dad saying that Pip and Angie are picking me up today! At least that's something to look forward to. I make bacon and eggs, the mac n cheese last night didn't fully fulfill my stomach so I was starving. I finished and brushed my teeth upstairs. I waited for Pip and Angie to come. Finally, the doorbell and I put on my backpack and left my phone in my hand. I opened the door and Pip instantly hugged me.
"Thanks..." I say still hoping mom's okay.
"No problem!" Pip replies back smiling and I force a fake smile back at him.
"Hurry up lovebirds we still gotta get to school!" Angie shouts through the open window. I blush at the comment and we headed towards the car.
Philip's POV
You know I love Angie but sometimes she just really annoys me. It's normally how it's like with siblings you hate them and you love them. Maybe most of the time it's hate but there's still some positive things in there. Theo sat in the front seat and Angie was in the back. Nobody really talked the whole car drive. I bet Theo is going through a rough time and it always pains me to see her in a bad mood. We arrive at school and we start off in Mr. Seabury's class for science, Mrs. Reynolds for math, Mr. Reynolds for ELA, then lunch. Next we have Mrs. Washington for Social Studies, and lastly, Mr. Lee for PE.
At lunch everyone was asking why Theo left early. She didn't say the actual reason why though, she said there was family drama and no one asked anymore questions. Once the crowd left I finally got to reach her table and sat in front of her.
"You doing okay Theo?" She was looking down at her food before I said anything.
"Oh yeah I'm fine..." She made quick eye contact with me then looked down at her food again. I really knew she wasn't fine you can just tell. I couldn't do much about it but I always kept her in my sight as much as possible and Angie helped me too. I dropped her off at her house and went home.
"I hope Mrs. Burr will be okay..."
"She will be Angie...hopefully..."
We arrived home and mom was crying . We weren't sure what happened and we were pretty confused.
"Mom? What happened?"
"Oh Pip Theo needs you right now..."
"What? What happened?"
"Mrs. Burr has..." She couldn't even finish her sentence before tearing up again. But, I knew what she was talking about and I know Theo really needs me. She's probably crying her heart out right now.
