The next day Kaia and Katia went dress shopping. Katia couldn't make up her mind at first. She tried on at least fifteen dresses. Kaia laughed at her as she would like one, and then she liked another one better. She finally found one that she loved. It was a white spaghetti strap style with a small lace train.
Kaia thought her sister had never looked more beautiful. She couldn't wait to see how much more beautiful she was going to look on her wedding day. And she couldn't wait to see Liam's face when he saw Katia. Katia still protested when Kaia pulled out her credit card to pay for the dress. Kaia told her this was one argument she wasn't going to win. After that, they began the search for Kaia's dress. They were able to find a maxi style dress in a dark green color that brought out Kaia's green eyes.
And even though Katia loved her niece and nephews, she and Liam had decided to just have Kaia and Louis stand up with them.
They did a little more shopping and then headed to lunch where they discussed the wedding plans. Arrangements were made for Kaia, Zayn and the children to stay at the winery. There were plenty of rooms for everyone. Bruce and Duncan would also be staying there.
Katia kept apologizing to Kaia about not telling her right away about the change of the venue and plans for the wedding to which Kaia told her it was water under the bridge and that she wasn't upset like Katia thought she would be.
A few days after their lunch and dress shopping day, Katia and Liam moved out of the Malik's beach house. Kaia could almost sense some hesitation on her sister's part but she hugged her and told her it wasn't like they were moving back to England and that they would still see each other. And with the wedding, they'd be talking practically every day.
Destiny seemed heartbroken that her favorite auntie was leaving her. Katia promised her they would still have lunch and go get manicures and go shopping.
"But Auntie Kat, why do you have to leave?" She asked her as she hugged her aunt. "You're leaving like T left!"
"Oh sweetheart," Katia said. "I'm not leaving forever. I'll only be a few miles away and you can have mummy call whenever you want to talk to me or see me."
"Do you promise?"
"Yes, my sweet angel, I promise."
Zayn had to pull his tearful daughter into his arms.
"Thanks for letting us stay with you," Liam said to Kaia.
"That's what family does," she told him and gave him a smile. "I know it hasn't always been easy in such close quarters and I know my sister's apprehension with it sometimes. And I hope by you guys moving this will end some of her fears."
"Me too," he whispered and leaned in and kissed her cheek. "My butterfly."
Zayn walked up behind his wife and placed his hands on her shoulders as they all waved goodbye. And Kaia was right, it wasn't like they were moving away forever. She watched as Destiny had wiped her tears and was now chasing Ahmir, much to his annoyance. She set Karim down next to her and held his hand and turned to head back into the house. Karim holding tight to her as he walked along with her. He was a strong little baby and was almost a year old and had been pulling himself along on the furniture in the house. Kaia and Zayn figured it would be no time at all before he was off and running.
A few days later, Katia invited Destiny to lunch and out for some shopping. Even though she wasn't having her stand up at the wedding, she wanted Destiny to have a special dress for the wedding. Zayn had taken Ahmir and Karim out to get some new suits for the wedding along with Liam and Louis who was back in town.
