I looked at myself in the mirror adjusting my skirt trying to get it as high as I possibly could. This wasn't me . I stared at my reflection it hurt to know I had to be somebody I wasn't just to fit in. I looked down at the floor."Sarah stop worrying about that skirt and get in the car" my mum walked over to me and rest her head on mine whilst she pulled strands of hair from my ponytail. She turned me around "you look beautiful" and then kissed me on the head. We hopped into the car. Jemma sucked her thumb and giggled every time we went over a speed bump. Her face was so cheerful and happy her smile made it feel like summer even though we all new it was winter she made you feel like their was not a worry in the world. But every super coated lolly has a sour centre and for Jemma it was the golf ball sized Tuma in her brain she didn't know it but today could be the last day I get to see her. Tears streamed down my face as she held my hand "sawah wats Wong" she still had her baby voice and pronounced all of her r's with a w. I kissed my mum and Jemma good bye. I headed to the cheer bathrooms and fixed my make up. Shay was their applying another layer of lipgloss she is the only one I want to see right now. She was my friend since year seven all the way to senior year she and I were never the cool people until we joined the cheer squad she's the only one I can act normal around. "She's going to be fine I promise you nothing would ever harm that little angle her smile could beat whatever sized Tuma they throw at her" "keep your skirt held high and cheer on" we left the bathroom and headed to our lockers.
