CHAPTER 1
Lily's caramel-brown eyes quickly flashed open and her body shot up in her bed. She placed her hand and tried to calm her breathing. " Bad dream again," she mumbled to herself. Untangling her feet from the blankets on her bed, she slowly pulled herself up. She brushed the long, dirty blonde hair out of her face and looked at the clock. It was only 8:30 am. Summer had begun just about 4 days earlier. Lily made her way to the bathroom and took a quick shower, letting the steam wash the tired look from her face.
Soon enough, she'd changed into shorts and a dark shirt with a star design on it. She quickly applied some simple make-up and decided to go for a walk. She told her mom and started walking out the front door before turning around and grabbing her cell phone.
Lily loved her neighborhood. Most of her friends lived near-by. She passed her friend Robynn's house to see what she was up to. When she answered the door, Robynn gave Lily a huge, warm grin. They talked for a few moments, Robynn being her typical bubbly, lovable self. When Lily asked if Robynn would like to come on the walk, her big, dark brown eyes grew dull.
" Sorry... babysitting, AS USUAL!" Robynn sighed.
Lily grunted. After giving Robynn a hug goodbye, Lily continued on her walk. She stopped by Jamie's house, but no one answered. Noticing a pen by the door, she found a slip of paper in her pocket and wrote a note to leave by the door.
' Jamie!
heyy!! I just stopped by cuz I was walking around. Anywho, I miss you. Call me maybe(; <3 hehe Love you! ~<3 Lily!! '
Lily carefully placed the note near the door and walked away slowly. She walked another block or two before she stopped to check her phone. It was about 10:15 and she had left her house around 9:30. She noticed that she'd gotten a text. It was from her friend ( and crush XD), Tobi. A wide grin spread across her face and lit up her large eyes. She opened it.
' Hey. Whats upp?'
Her finger quickly began typing.
' Hi! not much, just walking around . How bout you?'
She sat down on the curb, phone in her hands. It quickly buzzed and she opened the message.
' I'm bored. I'm gonna go get a soda. Wanna come?'
Lily smiled once again
' Sure(: see ya at the corner.'
' Ok see ya.'
He replied.
Lily stood up and stretched. She hummed to herself all the way to the corner while watching the shadows on the concrete beneath her feet.
Suddenly she heard a familiar, " Hey."
Her eyes widened and she looked up, her face only an inch from Tobi's. His deep blue eyes bore into her light brown ones. Lily felt the red spreading across her cheeks. He chuckled. She started to giggle and looked away. They began to talk and walked down the street to get drinks. About 10 minutes had passed and they had gotten their drinks and were sitting on a curb, simply talking.
It felt like there was a heater in Lily's chest. She was so happy, just being with him. Something about him could make her smile and feel like everything was alright, no matter what.
" Hmm," Tobi looked at his phone, " I gotta go do something. I'll be right back, okay?"
"Sure, I'll be here." Lily smiled.
