My mom's a sex therapist.

Yes, I know, scandalous.

She shipped me away to some fancy boarding school with a one day notice, apparently she doesn't want me interfering when her stupid clients come over for a quick fuck and some lousy information about their sex life. Of course she'd choose her job over her son.

Now we're past the sad part about how my mom's a bit tapped, and how her life revolves around giving middle-aged men advice on how to get an erection and a blowjob, you should probably know my name. Alec. Alexander formally, but if you call me that I'll probably shoot everybody in the room and then myself.

"Come here then, you little creep," that's voice is pretty familiar - even if I've only been here for a day. Everybody knows who it belongs to; Elle Addams. She's probably the most scary, intimidating person in the entire school. "That's what I thought."

I looked over, seeing some guy pressed up against the locker with Elle Addams twisting his arm around his back, looking like he was in immense pain. "Now, you go back to your stupid little friends who think it's funny to slut-shame girls for the clothes they wear, and tell them how wrong it is. Or do you want another experience like this with me? I'm sure you would, you seem to love making teenage girls feel like objects. Not going to work with me, Stryder. Fuck. Off."

She let him go, turned around and bumped directly into me. Her books scattered all over the floor, and she rolled her eyes. I picked up some bright blue book, handing it back to her. "Don't touch me."

"I'm sorry, I'm-"

"New? Yeah, I can tell."

"Sorry-"

"Fuck off, snowflake."

-

"So have you signed up for that musical? We're doing Heathers! It's a musical masterpiece, dude."

"Nick, I'm telling you, I don't do musicals, or plays," I groaned, slamming my locker shut, earning the attention of multiple students. "Don't tell me-"

"I kind of already signed you up for it? Don't come for me, I think you'd make a fantastic Jason Dean. Imagine you being all badass and edgy, Elle Addams style," he laughed, clearly making fun of me. I glared at him.

"So, I heard my name. What are you two psychos chattering about?" Elle strutted over, sporting a black leather jacket and her usual moody look. "Look, if you're trying to decide who gets to sleep with me first, get over yourselves. You're too awkward teenage boys who could never earn my attention," she flicked her hair and walked away.

"Maybe she's the one who should get over herself," Nick raised his eyebrows. "Can you believe Elle thinks I want to sleep with her? I mean, I do, but-"

"Dude-"

"Right, yeah, sorry, stop making girls seem like objects. Rehearsals are being held right now, we need to hurry or you'll never get the part of JD-"

"Isn't that a place where you can buy Nike shoes?"

"Jason Dean. Idiot."

I shrugged, following Nick through a crowd of people and entering the auditorium. There were only a few people, presumably to audition - though they didn't really look like the acting type. Still, neither did I.

There was a girl with black, curly hair and tan skin. A tall boy with blonde hair. And Elle Addams.

Of course Elle Addams had to be here. "Yeah, no, I'm out," I shook my head, trying to dash out of the door before Nick could grab my arm. Of course I'm never quick enough. "I've had two run ins with her today, one of them she bumped into me and called me a snowflake because I apologised."

"You apologised because she bumped into you? God, you are a snowflake," Nick replied, marching over towards the black haired girl. "Who are you auditioning for then? I think you'd be a great," he admired her face for a moment, coming to a conclusion. "Veronica Sawyer."

"Yeah, that's who I'm auditioning for," she looked a little freaked out by Nick. "I'm Devon, by the way. Devon Harrington. Who are you guys auditioning for?"

"My friend Alec is going for JD, and I'm just here for moral support and memes-"

"Yep, hello, I'm Alex- Alec, that's me. Alec. Not Alex," I laughed awkwardly.

"Alright, Alec not Alex. Do you know what Veronica and JD have to do? Because you really don't seem as weirded out as me right now," she asked, and I realised that I didn't. So it was probably something really, really bad.

"No?"

"Alec, my friend, we're gonna have to make out if you get the part. You sure you wanna touch my beautiful face with your less beautiful face?" she asked. Nick looked at me.

"Now you're just calling me ugly, I take offence," she rolled her eyes and laughed.

"Well, let's hope we don't have to do dead girl walking as our audition piece," she smirked and walked away, probably to find some other dude to scare.

"Nick, I am so out. All the way out. If you love this Jason Dean guy so much, why don't you audition for him yourself?"

"Ah, I see you two losers seem to follow me everywhere-"

"No, we don't, actually," I folded my arms. "Nick signed me up for a musical I didn't even want to do. I didn't copy your idea."

"Calm down, snowflake. I'm not even trying out for the play. Right, Luke?" the blonde boy just nodded while looking down at his phone. "So, who did he want you to be? Let me guess, a gay guy in a gay relationship with him."

"No, no - we're not gay. I mean, he's not gay. I mean - no, he's making me audition for JD-"

"Please, you'd never even scare a fly."

"I'll have you know I can be very intimidating."

"Yeah? Prove it," she folded her arms, smirking slightly.

"Don't be ridiculous, I can't prove it."

"Therefore, you're declared a snowflake. Bye bye, snowflake."
