(this is a heart condition, not very serious but quite scary. i have it myself so i'm writing this off my own experiences)"Well Daniel, it seems everything is normal. Nothing has changed since the last time you saw me." Daniel sighs in relief at the doctors words, a small smile filling his face. The doctor continues reading over the results, making sure everything was in order, before standing up, making Daniel and Tyler do the same.
"It's good that you came to see us, even if it was a meaningless scare. You never know. Don't panic if it happens again soon, it's highly likely and you know how to stop it, alright? Lovely to see you again Daniel." Dr Samuels reassurance has always been calming to the Seaveys, especially when Daniel first came down with his condition when he was 12. After a series of scares, they decided to get Daniel checked out, and found out he has an acute type of tachycardia called atrial fibrillation. If he does a sudden movement or too much sport, his heart will go into overdrive, really fast, and even if he's at rest, his heart will continue at that unchangeable rhythm. He's managed to find ways to stop it throughout his years of experience, such as relaxing, lying flat on his back, dunking his head into a bowl of cold water... it was just scary living with a heart condition.
"I'm very glad to hear that." Daniel breathes out as he stands beside Tyler, both of them ready to leave. "Thank you for everything Dr Samuels." They exit the hospital, feeling like a weight had been lifted off their shoulders. The walk to the car is silent, neither of them wanting to speak after meeting the chilly air outside. Daniel climbs into the passenger seat, immediately resting his head against the cold window as Tyler get in, a lot slower. They stay stationary, before Tyler finally sighs, breaking the tension.
"Dani, I still think you should tell the boys." He says, making Daniel clench his jaw.
"I don't want to." Daniel says through gritted teeth, making Tyler groan.
"Cmon bro, don't be so stubborn, they deserve to know! Besides, it would help me out, I wouldn't be so worried if I knew there were 4 more people who could help you if - when - it happens again." Tyler says, breathing out deeply. Daniel bites his lip and looks out the window, feeling the car come to life and begin driving.
"I-I will soon. I just-" Daniel sighs, closing his tired eyes. "I just don't want them to treat me any different." He almost whispers.
"I know you don't Dani, but your health is their number one priority, don't forget that."
They get to the Why Don't We home just ten minutes later, and Daniel jumps out of the car, turning back to Tyler before entering the house.
"Thank you Ty." He says. Tyler smiles at his little brother, fist pumping him.
"Anytime Dani." Daniel watches him drive off before sighing and turning around, facing the large house. He shivers as he walks up to the front door, stumbling slightly as he takes out his keys. The house is much warmer inside, making Daniel sigh in relief, and he sniffs out the smell of food, making his stomach rumble. He walks into the dinning room, seeing all the boys messing about around the table, which is full of food. Jack is the first to spot Daniel, his eyes lighting up.
"Daniels home! Now can I eat Jonah?" Jack asks eagerly, making the eldest boy roll his eyes.
"Yes, now you can." Jack immediately picks up a spoonful of rice, shovelling it into his mouth. Zach doesn't take long to follow along, both of them stuffing their faces. Daniel sits on the empty chair, next to Zach and Corbyn, going to grab some food from the bowl despite his lack of hunger.
"How was your bro time with Tyler?" Jonah asks, looking up from his meal. Daniel freezes, since he had lied to the boys, saying that him and Tyler were going to spend some quality time together, only them, when in reality he had an emergency hospital appointment.
