Blah blah blah.
Love story. Love story. Love story.
That's what I always thought about every romance novel I've ever read. Every movie I've ever seen. Why is it always ending with the guy getting the girl? Why can't it end in the girl getting the guy?
They all start the same way as well. The girl is always the quiet one, never being noticed by anyone except her bully who she used to be friends with who just so happens to be with the bad boy everyone had a crush on. Out of no where, the boy starts being all buddy buddy and confesses his undying love for her and they live happily ever after. Blah blah blah. I want a real love story. One with weird plot twists and unexpected problems.

That's what I thought to myself as I sat in study hall, reading yet another cheesy romance novel. As the bell began to ring, I closed my book and set off for my next class. As I walked the busy halls, my eyes focused on a new face. He was tall and fairly handsome. His hair was a mocha color and had small waves on the top. Someone who I could see Aspen going for in her spare time. She always loved the new boys. I on the other hand never really had a type. In fact, I've never even had a real boyfriend before. Oh well, boys stink. They play too much. Although, it WOULD be nice to be able to call someone mine. Maybe some day.

I'm pulled out of my thoughts as two hands cover my eyes.

"Guess who." the voice chirped.

"Well considering you're my only friend, I'm gonna have to go with Aspen?" I say, not amused.

My eyes are uncovered and I'm greeted with a pink covered girl with a toothy smile. She fixes her eyes on something behind me and immediately pulls me into the bathroom that just so happens to be next to me. Without warning, she locks the door and sits on the counter. I cringe at the thought of all the germs transferring to her leggings. Ew.

"OMG did you see the new boy?!"

"Yeah. What about him?" My patients is running thin for this girl.

"Um, do you have eyes? He's so hot. Do you think he has a girlfriend? Of course he doesn't, he's way too good for any of the hoes here. I have to snatch him up before he gets corrupted. Gotta blast!" She rants and with that, the door in unlocked and she strides over to him. That's all I see before the closes again.

Taking the opportunity to freshen up, I reapply some lip gloss and fix my ponytail. As I walk out of the bathroom, Aspen and the mysterious new boy are no where to be found. Figures. The minute bell rings and I hurry to my next class. The final, yet most difficult, one of the day. I took my seat in the middle of the class. Looking around, I can see that I definitely don't belong in a class like this. These people are way too smart for me. The bell rings and the teacher emerges from a closet in the back of the class. Carrying small boxes of test tubes and tweezers, curiosity sparks my mind. Then the new boy walks in. Huh, so he's gonna be one of THOSE kinds of people. The teacher scoffs at his late arrival but doesn't say anything more.

"Alright my peasants, the person you are sitting next to you will be your partner for the next 4 weeks, Get comfortable cause nobody is allowed to switch." she says paying no mind to the students' grumpy faces. I sneak a peak to my right and find the new boy playing with the strings of his hoodie. Yay me.

"Your project will begin with you testing the cells in these tubes. The cells are from different animals. We will then look at the DNA and genes of the animal and then match up what animals are similar and which are different. We will end with you presenting your findings in a power point completed with graphs and pictures. Understood?" the class nods to her words. She draws a circle in the air as if saying 'let's roll' and places the different boxes on the lab tables.

Turning my body towards the new boy, I sigh. This is going to be a long 4 weeks.

"Hi, I'm Gwen. And you are?" I say, starting with the basic introduction.

"Sebastian. You're friends with Aspen, right?" he replies, bringing his eyes to mine. Ah so it speaks and has a name. I nod my head in response and I get up, guiding him to a lab table. As we sit, he brings his eyes to me again as if he were trying to read me. Paying no attention, I lay the test tubes on the table and point at the cluster of microscopes on the counter.

"I don't speak sign language." he says with a smirk.

"Microscope." I say in a monotone.

After we get all of our equipment, I begin laying the skin cells onto test strips and handing them to Sebastian to look at.

"So why did you ask if I knew Aspen?" I ask after a long time of silence. He looks up from the scope and draws in a breath.

"I saw her drag you into a bathroom and then we made out after in the janitor's closet so I just wanted to know if she actually knew you or if she dragged everyone into small spaces."

I stifle a laugh and nod my head. "Yeah, she does that a lot when she wants something. In this case it was talking to me and putting her tongue down your throat." I say, his look making me finally burst with laughter which gained some confused looks from some of my classmates. Clearing my throat, I returned my attention to the skin cells and go back to being silent.

The clock strikes 12 and the bell rings, letting us know the school day is, at last, over. We return our supplies and venture out into the hall.

"OMG it's my two favorite people!" I hear from behind me. Turning around, I notice Sebastian by my side and Aspen skipping up to us while holding her boobs in place. I giggle at the sight and she hits my arm playfully.

"Shut up, you know these things cost too much to be bouncing around everywhere." she complains.

"Ok miss 'my titties were bouncing all over when he was on top'. Whatever you say." I say as a laugh emerges from my stomach. She gave me an insulted look but winks the second after.

"...I'm standing right here." I hear from next to us.

"Oopsie, I totally forgot you were still there. Hi baby." She says and places and kiss on Sebastian's cheek. A look of confusion rises onto my face.

"Oh yeah. we're a thing now so yeah." she says, anchoring her arms around his neck as his stay glued inside his pockets. I bet he just LOVES that. I nod and make my way to my locker, Sebastian and Aspen taking their own route home.

Arriving home, I'm greeted with Stone licking his way into my soul. Stone is my pitbull that we saved from a shelter a year ago. She's been a peach to my family ever since. Not hearing any noise, I've come to the conclusion that the rest of my family is out. It's been a while since I've had the place to myself, even if it was an hour or two.

Slipping upstairs and into some sweatpants and a tank top, I make my way back downstairs and into the living room. The couch looked inviting and I took a seat, patting the space next to me for Stone. Soon enough, I fell asleep.
