Chapter 1

Mates? How do you know you've found the one? In the human world it is very difficult to know whether or not you have found your soulmate. However for the supernatural it is quite the opposite, many try to hide the fact that they know who has their heart from the moment they lock their eyes.

Some may say it's because they perceive their significant other as being weak, unworthy of them. But that is never the case, Aphrodite, the goddess of love, never makes mistakes when pairing two people together. They each will bring a different aspect into their relationships. Everybody is different some search for years, decades, centuries, to find their mate and some don't even bother or even care.

In the supernatural world there are many different species and they all live separately, to save wars, not many species can manage to co-inhabit, therefore they live their separate lives, still knowing the others exist but paying no mind to them.  It's very rare for a mated pair to be from two different species, however it's not impossible.

But is there away to stop the conflict and unite the species, maybe then life would be better for everyone. Who knows.

The current world we live in is nothing like what the humans think we live in. But I'm speaking from personal experience, I was brought up in the 'human' world not even knowing that the other species existed not until I, myself started going through my own changes, I always knew I was different but never knowing why, all my life I've been quicker, smarter and get this I don't have to sleep, of course my 'parents' don't know any of this but even as a baby I was never fully asleep, ye I know crazy right I don't sleep and I remember being a baby, at first I thought it was strange but I started reading up about it from a really young age and apparently that's all normal for my condition, I also noticed that I have heightened sense, literally all of them are like 100% better than any human I've ever encountered. Now I know you're probably wondering why I never panicked about finding out all of this information out about myself. But it's going to sound really weird but I hear voices in my head, 2 to be exact, they started when I was a couple of years old, at first it freaked me out a little bit, but they somehow together managed to calm mee down and they explained things to mee without telling my specifically what I am, they said it's for 'the greater good' I find out for myself.

Obviously my parents aren't really my parents I knew that and have known that for quite sometime now, however I don't know when or if they're ever going to tell mee that they adopted mee and where they actually got mee from, maybe there's more out there that are just like me, or maybe I'm the only one. Well there's only one way to find out.

I was currently sat in my room speaking to the voices and they've managed to convinced mee to ask my parents about where I am from, they've tried soo many times before and all of which have failed but today something just feel right, like today's the day I can get some answers. It feels like fate. I need to know and I need to know now. So I quickly finish up my homework, I'm in my final few weeks of the school year, I'll be going into year 11 after the summer which is great because that'll mean 1 more year of torture then I'll be free and it means my birthday is coming up aswell, I'll be turning 16 soon, which makes mee the oldest in my class.

Once I'm finished my homework I get up out of bed shove on my dressing gown cause even though my body regulates an immense amount of heat (which is another cool aspect I found out about myself) I need to keep up pretences, no body knows what I am, even I don't know fully, the voices just keep telling mee to wait and all will be revealed, what kind of messed up crap is that. Anyway so once I've got my dressing gown on I trot down the stairs and find my 'parents' residing in the living room, dads sat watching football (soccer) and mum, well I don't really know what she's doing, she's a strange person when she wants to be, she also smells funny, 'Don't worry you will find out soon enough' one of the voices said in my head. I must have been stood there for quite some time in a daze because I'm knocked out of my thoughts by dad calling to mee "you okay there kid?", I give my dad a confused stare with my head tilted to the side abit, probably making myself look like a lost puppy, "Yee, I'm fine must of dazed of abit there, my minds abit all over the place at the moment", that must of caused some concern because both of my parents heads snapped to mee by that point, I jumped a tiny bit from the simultaneousness of their actions. However I recovered before they even noticed, well I hope I did anyway.
