“Sakura? Sakura!”
“Relax man, she just fell asleep.”
Ryoma was afraid that something bad had happened, but I heard her snore a little and knew she was fine. I carried her back to the shelter and dried her off. She was still asleep, so I put her on her cot, tucked her under her nice soft blanket, and put the dream catcher I made her on the blanket. I was so worried, so now I gave her a hug, thinking she was still a little bit cold.
I had a feeling she was going to be sick tomorrow because of falling into a freezing stream during the middle of the night is not very good for someone’s health and being stuck outside for so long; being soaked to the bone wasn’t much help either.
The next morning, Sakura still was in a daze. She must’ve gotten a hit to the head or something.
“Hey princess, you feeling okay?”
“Yeah, just kind of dizzy still.”
“So what happened? How did you fall in the stream anyways?”
“Well, I came out to fill a bucket with some water, but then I saw a rock come flying out of the air. The rock hit my head and I fell unconscious into the stream. When I was unconscious, I was falling into darkness. I couldn’t see anything; I was just falling into the darkness. Eventually, I heard something. I thought I was just hallucinating, but then I heard someone calling my name. When I heard the voice, I saw a light. Then I heard two voices, which made another light appear, and then soon enough the voices were screaming my name. I started to feel tears fall on me, and when I realized the two voices were you and Ryoma, I woke up.”
“Ah, so you woke up when we both screamed your name.”
“Pretty much, is breakfast ready?”
“Yeah, but let me check your temperature again.”
“Why? I’m fine.”
“I know, but you fell into a freezing stream and were soaked for a long time in the cold air. Just let me check.”
I checked her temperature, and she was even worse than yesterday.
“Well, the princess won’t be enjoying the commoner’s world today. You stay here and just rest. I’ll take care of—“
All of a sudden, Ryoma rammed me and said, “I’ll take care of you.”
“Um, Ryoma, Kyo kind of owns the job of taking care of me, considering he’s so used to it. You could always assist him if you like. It’s up to Kyo, not me.”
I wouldn’t mind if Ryoma came to help me, but he would have to accept that I’m the boss. He decided to join me, so I told him to go hunting and I would go fishing. He made a spear and ran off while I went to the stream.
While I was fishing, I saw something shining in a shrub. I went to take a peek and saw a shiny, silver, rock. I thought this was the rock that hit Sakura and made her fall into the stream because she said she got hit by a rock, plus our bucket just lying on its side nearby made it sort of obvious.
I thought the rock sparkled like her eyes, so I put it in my pocket and would make something out of it later. I finished up, and then went back to the shelter. Ryoma was already back and started on lunch. I don’t really hate him as much now, but if he ever kissed Sakura, I would murder him.
We had lunch and then just relaxed since I already got the fish for dinner. I thought I’d just take a nap, hoping Ryoma would start on dinner if I didn’t wake up.
