"God damn it! Why isn't she answering?"
You threw down the borrowed phone in your lap, frustration and concern bubbling up inside you. You sat on a stray chair in the main hall with Leon Kennedy and Marvin Branagh nearby, eyeing you worriedly. Marvin rested on a leather seat, still holding his side where he'd gotten injured while a computer screen sat in front of him. Leon stood a couple steps away from you, cocking his gun. As for you, you were trying to get a hold of your mom, but to no avail and that's when Leon approached you.
"Still nothing?"
You raised your head to meet the eyes of the officer in front of you. Leon now wore a full on police uniform with the letters 'R.P.D.' written across the front of his vest. His waist was equipped with a gun holster, and thick shoulder pads rested upon his outfit. He looked like he was strapped up and ready to fight more zombies. You smiled up at him sadly in response to his question and his brows instantly fell low with his frown.
"No. No, nothing."
"Don't worry. I'm sure you'll get a hold of someone soon."
You pursed your lips before lowering your head. You knew he was just trying to be reassuring to keep you sane— something a cop should do— but you were worried out of your mind about your mother. You hadn't returned home and the crazy shit that's been happening in Raccoon City was freaking you the hell out. You hoped your mom was hiding out and keeping herself safe, promising in your head that you'll return home to her.
Leon turned to face Marvin.
"Does anyone know what started this?"
"Not a clue," Marvin responded, shaking his head. "But honestly, all you need to know is that this place will eat you live if you aren't careful."
You raised your head nervously at his words.
"Yeah... well, I was supposed to start last week and then I got a call to stay away," Leon mentioned, throwing his arms out. "I wish I'd come here sooner."
"Wait..." You paused as you looked at Leon quizzically. "So you're—?"
"Just a rookie, yeah." he instantly replied with a nod.
Your eye brows raised in surprise. No wonder he looks so young for a cop, you thought. He just got the damn job! You were impressed that he was still alive in this mess for being just a rookie.
"You're here now, Leon," Marvin spoke up. "That's all that matters."
You watched as Leon finally approached Marvin as he looked over the cryptic book Leon had apparently gotten off the cop in the east hall. All you knew about the book was that it held some kind of way out of the station, since you couldn't just walk out the front door anymore because of the hordes of zombies that still lingered around the enterance. At least that's what you assumed.
"Okay, Lieutenant. I'm ready."
"Hopefully you'll be able to find a way out of this station," Marvin continued, looking up at Leon. "That officer you met earlier—Elliot. He thought this secret passageway might do the trick."
