(Cole's POV)
The storm had just gotten worse and I was racing home. I was soaked right through. I was running by an alleyway, and stopped. I heard someone. I think they were... crying?
I peered around the corner to see a little boy, around the same age as me, maybe a bit younger, with jet black shoulder length hair.
I crossed the alleyway and knelt down to his level. "Are you ok?" I asked. He didn't respond. "What's your name?" Still no answer. I took off my coat and draped it around his shoulders. "Come with me." I said.
We got up and started walking to my house. I saw my dad in the doorway giving me one of those 'You're late' stares...
(3rd Person POV)
The two siblings stood at the front of the school. protected from the rain.
"Come on Kai!" The girl coaxed. "I can't Nya! You know I'm afraid of water!" "Yeah, yeah I know. But if we run, it will seem short. Come on!" She said tugging his arm. After a few minutes of persuasion from Nya, he gave in."Fine! Race ya!" And with that he took off into the storm. "Hey! No fair! Kai come back!" Come on sis!" She started running into the storm after her brother.
(Zane's POV)
I shook off my umbrella and hung it up on a hook. "Dad! I'm home!" I shouted. No answer. 'Must be in the shop' I thought. "Dad?" I said as I opened the sliding door to the shop. "Are you in here?" The room was trashed. I gasped and tried to scream, but my mouth was covered by a hand.
I desperately tried to get out of his grip, but that only made him tighten his grip on me. I bit his hand and he yelped letting me go. I ran out of my house to the front.
I heard rustling behind me and then a crash. I turned around to see my dad tied up in a pile of garbage. "Dad!" I cried. "Are you ok?" "I'm fine Zane." He said as I removed the cloth from his mouth. I started to untie him, and eventually got the ropes off. "Oh Zane! Thank you!" He exclaimed as he wrapped his arms around me. "What happened?" I asked. "I-I don't remember. Thank goodness you're alright!" And we just sat there, in the rain, hugging and crying.
I watched as the police took the robber away. And sighed in relief. Looks like dad and I are eating out tonight.
