This was going to be my final day of torture. By the time that night falls on my humble village, this was all going to be over. All the misery, the hurt, the unhappiness. This was the end.
I said farewell to the school. To the plain boring corriders that I have walked thousands of times but this would be my last. To all the bad memories made over years of misery. Then I headed home.
I was carrying the books that I had just emptied out of my locker. But now I had the hard task of taking these worthless piles of paper home. I was plan in on binning them but then I thought my parents might want some of my work. Not that they cared anyway. They were never home and i was left alone in the emptiness of a overly large house that only I was ever in. Both my mum and dad went to work early in the morning and not come home until late at night. But i would never see them because by the time I woke up the next morning they were both gone again.
I had nearly reached my house when a few books slipped out of my grip. They glattered to the floor one after the other. I tired to pick them up when the rest of my books fell to floor to join the others. I guess they felt a bit left out. I went down hoping no one has seen me. I was cursing under my breath when another pair of hands joined me and started to pick up some of the books. I hadn't noticed them at the start but when I looked up to see a boy. Well a teenager. Who was a boy... This was strange. Why was he here? Why is he helping me? Why did he decide to notice? Of all days why this day? Why the day I would be empited of loneliness and torture. Why? I asked myself.
Even though I tried not to care about him. I couldn't help myself but stare. He had light brown hair with a fringe that he had to repeatedly push out of the way of his magnifisently bright blue eyes. I figured he was the same age as me but his hands looked like they belonged to a young boy.
I was still staring at him when he looked up at me. He handed me a few of the books and smiled. It was a kind of smile that you could trust but at the sametime you just wanted to melt into his arms and have him love you forever. But why today?
"Thanks." I mumbled
"Not a problem." He replied with another smile. Oh why did he have to have that smile? Why today of all days? Why today?
"Sorry for staring, I've never seen you at school." I stated
"Oh, well I so end my lunch and break catching up with work as I'm not the best at English or maths, I fact." He laughed.
"Why are you helping me?" I wondered out loud.
"Because you have an awful lot of books which another person should be helping carry rather than you on your own." He answered
"Oh." I said. I decided that it was a stupid question to ask. But was is really stupid to ask?
I collected the rest of the books that still lay in the ground and was away to take the other books that the boy had. But he just on to them and asked
"So where you heading?"
"Home." I replied "it's just a few streets from here."
"So why do you have all these books and there all school books?" He questioned "its not like you can have homework in every single class."
"I was just tidyng out my locker and I have s lot of junk in there." I decided on the spot.
"Oh that's good." He sighed with relief "I was worried you were taking all these books home cause you were going commit suicide."
After that comment we walked home in silence.
Eventually we arrived at my house. We walked upto the door and i turned to face him.
"I can take them inside from here." I stated
"No it's fine, I'll help take them in." He insisted
"Fine." I mumbled
I placed the books down and unlocked the door. I grapped the books and entered the hallway and he followed me inside.
"Thanks for helping. I don't get noticed very often." I said
"It's fine but I just saw you when you were coming out of school with all these books but no one stopped to ask to if you needed help." He started "I was quite shocked that no one even lookded in your direction. So I might of followed you a bit to make sure you were OK but then you dropped your books and I couldn't stop
myself, but i still don't know your name."
"It's Live." I Tod him "and what about what's your name?" I asked while giving him a gentle prod on the shoulder.
"I'm Jay." He sad
"Well thank you Jay for noticing me." I said while taking the books from him then placing them on the floor. "My parents don't come home til really late if you wan to stay for a bit and i think there is some cake left.
"Even though cake sounds good I think I better head home cause my mum will start to worry and I have maths homework for tomorrow." He answered while making a strange face.
He walked towards the door and just before he went out of the house Jay turned and said to me
"It was really nice to meet you Liv, I'll see you tomorrow." Then he went out the door and left me in the hallway with a mass amount of books and a big desicion.
