I ran off the bus and down my dead end dirt road. Most kids love Fridays. You get to hang out with your friends over the weekend, and do a bunch of cool stuff together. Not me. I have to do chores. And I even have a job. I also hate Friday night. Because all I get to do is do chores. Anyway I ran to the end of my road, and straight into my house. I automatically went to the refrigerator and looked at my list of chores I had to do before dinner. First thing on the list was doing my homework. Like most kids I have to do my homework before I do anything else. Only, I made that rule myself. No one ever makes me do my homework. I do it because I want to. My step dad always tells me to do my chores first. He says I can do my homework, "on my own free time." Like I have any free time! I dug my math book out of my backpack. Luckily math was the only homework I had today. I set down at the dinner table to do my homework. When my math homework was done, I went to get the mop.
