"You know, I don't think I've ever seen you that angry before." Zea commented, pulling me down the hall towards the lunchroom.
"Perks of being a Thousandth, number 367. We have less emotional control than homo evolvo." I explained. There were many differences between me and everyone else. Nurse Shadow was still educating me on all of them.
"Isn't being more affected more like a talent though?" James asked curiously, slinging his arm around me. I ignored the arm, focusing on the question.
"No, not at all." I laughed. "Talents allow you guys to cause things. I don't cause anything, I just am a slave to what my brains chemistry is." I explained. James nodded in understanding as we entered the lunchroom.

The lunchroom was packed with students at tables yelling and laughing. Immediately we all headed to the canteen. The Tip had a program at the school, so that we could get free lunches. Tippers weren't exactly the richest in the world.

We presented our I.D's and collected our paper bags without much hassle, before heading to our table. The Tipper's all sat together on one table, and the younger three where already seated. We slid into our seats. Amy Malvoe, TLS# 963 greeted us enthusiastically. She was two years below us and was extremely perky. She had a short bob that was permed. Her mother was the Tip's hairstylist, so she always had some crazy hairdo going on. Sitting beside her were John and George Thorold, TLS# 974. They were identical twins, which linked into their talent of being able to read each other's thoughts, however they were completely different. George was thin and lanky and was a nerd to the tenth degree. He worshipped Zea, and always tried to aspire to be like her. John on the other hand was buff, and street smart. He was second-hand man to the gang leader, Cordon, in the Tip. No one dared cross him in this school, but he really was just a sweetheart. He and Amy where mates, which they had discovered a few months ago when Amy had turned 18. They hadn't left each other's side since, and their mating ceremony was planned for October.

"Zea, what would you say is your opinion on the 20.45% drop in TLS number 700 born?" George immediately asked as we opened our paper bags. Zea hummed in thought.
"Probably nature way of keeping the bell curve formation intact. We saw a large drop in the 300 numbers because of that terrorist attack last year, so that's probably why." She responded. George lapped up her every word.

"You really believe all that bell curve nonsense?" John asked while Amy fed him some apple. Zea looked at him.
"It fits the current flaws in the previous model, and as shown by that drop in the 700's seems to work." Zea replied fluidly. John huffed, while Amy turned to us.
"I think it's how Dr Pickin's designed it. He has a plan for everyone, and this is just part of it. His code is inside us all." She explained to us.
"Yeah, when Jimmy had that heart attack, he said he saw Dr Pickin's in his dream, and that's who brought him away from the light." John said. Jimmy was the laundromat owner in the Gap, the place where the TLS# 900 – 950 lived.

I nodded slowly. I had never really thought about why things where the way they where like Zea and Amy. Nurse Shadow had explained to me that Thousandth's had their own belief systems, but much of that had been lost in their death. Growing up in the orphanage Zea and I had grown up with no belief system, as per the government mandate.

"What about you James, what do you believe?" Amy asked him excitedly. James half shrugged, finishing his mouthful.
"I don't know really. I've always felt like there must be something out their dictating everything, but I don't know what that is. Who know, Dr Pickin's could be following a bell curve format." He jabbed, making everyone laugh.
"Sounds like something he'd do." George agreed enthusiastically, making everyone laugh harder.

Lunch went too fast, and the bell rung striking the end of our conversations. We wished everyone goodbye, promising to be at the meeting tonight. As we headed out into the hall, Zea and I wished goodbye to James, and Zea linked her arm around mine.
