She was beautiful. Her hair tucked behind her ears, her smile bright and white, her eyes fluttering open and closed as she talked to him. She's better than me. Cleo couldn't shake the thought as she silently observed the teen converse with her boyfriend. He's going to see all of my flaws and leave me for her because she is so much better than me. They were laughing and whispering. Cleo's head began to spin. Washed over with fear, she got up from her table in attempts to leave before she made a scene. One measly stone may not look like a lot, but it was enough to knock Cleo to the ground flat on her back and gasp for air. I've done it now! Everyone is sure to be staring. Deuce quickly rushed over to Cleo's side and offered his assistance when Cleo violently slapped his hands away and sat up in a rush, "I'm fine! Just leave me be, I'm fine. I know how to handle myself." Cleo's defensive tone and sudden refusal shocked the snake headed boy and he slowly moved his hands away as he watched his girlfriend pick herself off of the floor. "Are you okay? I was only trying to help, I didn't mean to anger you." Deuce said, voice smooth and creamy. "I told you, I'm fine! Go back to your conversation with Brielle. I'm sorry to interrupt." Cleo retorted with an embarrassed expression spreading across her face. Everyone was surly staring and investing themselves now if they hadn't been before. "Is that what this is about? If it is, you have nothing to be scared about. Brielle is just a fr-" Cleo quickly cut him off "I'm not afraid! I really don't want to talk about this right now, and I'd appreciate it if you'd drop the subject." Her voice made a decrescendo from a throaty yell to a shaky sound barely above a whisper. Cleo felt the tears threatening to fall well up inside of her eyes and she turned on her heels and rushed towards her car. She rummaged through her bag for her keys when a pair of hands grabbed her shoulders and stopped Cleo in her tracks. "Let go of me." Cleo demanded in a low growl. "Cleo please talk to me." Deuce pleaded as he attempted to spin the Egyptian around. Cleo resisted and forced her body out of his grasp. "I said let go!" The words spilled out of her mouth as she frantically climbed into the car and drove off. Once single tear, that's all she would allow to roll down her cheek.
