Alison's POV

The bell signals for lunch and every single person in my Calc class hurriedly pack their belongings before darting out of the single door, trying to beat each other to the lunch line while I took my sweet ass time packing my books into my bag.

I make my way to my locker first to place the extra textbooks, that were weighing down my backpack, inside the metal compartment. Just as I slam the door of my locker shut with a satisfying sound, I turn towards the direction of the cafeteria, my body colliding with a much firmer one.

I wince as this person's loose leaf papers fell out of their hands and onto the linoleum flooring, sliding everywhere against the smooth surface.

"I am so sorry" I apologize quickly bending down to retrieve their papers before a bunch of kids come trampling all over them.

"It's okay" A deep voice husks, sending shivers down my spine as I glance up to be met with the softest caramel brown eyes. They weren't like Emily's knee-quaking chocolate swirls but they were quite pleasing to stare at. "You know, I'm not much of a fan of cliches but I won't oppose to this form of first meetings" He smiled charmingly down at me, the dimples on his cheeks appearing. "Lorenzo, Lorenzo Calderon" He holds his hand out to me with his other hand in his pocket.

"Interesting introduction. Kind of like a knock off version of Draco Malfoy's" I shrug as he breathed out a short laugh, nodding as he brings both his hands back into his pockets.

"A Harry Potter fan I see, didn't expect that" He tilts his head, a few of his short curls falling onto his forehead.

"Why's that?" I question, crossing my arms across my chest, catching sight of his eyes falling down towards my cleavage before raising sheepishly.

"Dunno" He shrugged, chuckling.

"Well don't judge a book by its cover next time, Lorenzo, Lorenzo Calderon" I sigh out, stepping around him to make my way to the cafeteria.

"Well maybe if I got to know you more you can prove my assumptions wrong. Maybe over coffee or dinner or something?" He calls after me.

I smile continuing on with my walk to the cafeteria, leaving him hanging. I don't even know the dude. Plus, my eyes are still set on a particular brunette already.

Then again, I'm tired of chasing, I need someone to fight for me for once. Someone who will give me the same amount of attention I give them.

Such a shame that the one person I crave attention from the most has moved on from me, though she has probably forgiven me for my careless mistakes, the pain I've caused her, she hasn't forgotten. I could just see it in her eyes when she looks at me. Walls broken but slowly building taller than before. If I can't convince her to take another chance on me, I'll just have to wait for when she's ready. Or maybe, just accept it and move on to someone new?

My mom once said, like a butterfly, love won't be an easy chase. If you desperately chase after it, it'll flee from you. However, when the butterfly itself comes to you and rests in your hands trustingly, cherish it as it may not come back again.

...

"So what did he say?" Camila interrogated, the moment I sat down in front of her on our table.

I sigh, taking my container of chicken Caesar salad out along with my own fork from my bag. "Nothing much."

"Nothing much? Alison, this guy digs you and it's obvious that you dig him too"

"I don't, I just find him attractive. That's normal, I find a lot of people attractive but that doesn't mean I want to fuck them" I say, stabbing my fork into a piece of chicken before popping it into my mouth.
