I was searching for today's story until a story came finding me. Here it goes. I was sharing a couple of things with my co-passenger in bus. I shared things about office and my work and he did the same. I shared one thing of my personal life that I have a problem of forgetting things which sometimes cause a bad day, like forgetting earphones, keys and so on. After hearing this problem of mine, he almost jumped out of seat to face me and started narrating a story of how bad he is at remembering. His name was Urvil.
Urvil was getting late for office. He was getting so terribly late he would stop breathing if it could save him a minute. So today, he decided not to park a bike at regular parking space, instead he decided he would park at space that is at distance of 10 km. This would save him 30 minutes because on bike he can travel this distance in about 15 minutes which bus would have taken 45 minutes. This would result in saving 30 minutes of reaching early to home. So he did as decided.
After parking at new place, he boarded the bus and reached office. He did his routines and evening has arrived. Then he was leaving the place, but got stopped by colleague for some favor and help. Favor because it was not his task/duty and help because colleague didn't know how to do it. Being so kind, Urvil did both. He forgot to look at watch and finished both help and favor. By the time he got late by 30 minutes, but he was relaxed to remember he has parked the bike to nearer place. So he would still reach home on time.
Urvil boarded the bus to home, the same bus in which I was travelling. The bus was full so he had no choice but to stand for a while, until the seat beside me got vacant. Looking at his tired face, I quickly offered him seat before someone else notices the vacant seat. And we talked about his day at office and about his horrible boss which sometimes he hates as much as he does to stand in bus. We got some coincidental hobbies and also some bad habits. One of which was forgetting things. We talked about incidents which will prove each other more forgetful. While I described my incidents which were a lot more in numbers, our last stop has arrived. And it was his turn now to prove how good he is in his bad habit of forgetfulness. But I told he can do that some other time and we departed our ways.
After just a moment, he yelled my name from back and came running to me to say that he won. I asked how it could be; you haven't described any incidents yet. To which he replied, "I forgot my bike was parked at earlier station and not here""Sometimes the day to plan to get early to somewhere/someone, will be the day you get latest."
Was it destined right from the moment to get late for home when he was hurrying? Can it be possible he would have reached home earlier, if he would not have met me or he would not have helped or gave favor to his colleague? May be yes.One thing I learnt was that, "The more you try to avoid the destiny, the closer you will get to."
