The New Guy

Yeah so I never write this anymore soooo

"Detective Stone get in here!" Michaela's boss ordered.

"Coming!" She shouted back with an eye roll. She walked in his office and was met with a tall, dark haired, she could even say attractive, man.

"What this ti- who's this?" She interrupted herself.

"I'm assuming she's my new partner?" The man questioned. He hadn't taken his eyes off her since she walked in.
Michaela's eyes widened.

"New partner? Seriously? You know I prefer to work alone here." Michaela stuttered. The still unnamed man finally took his eyes off her and looked at the boss.

"I'm sorry Michaela, you'll have to make it work" Her boss said with a smirk. "This is Jared Vasquez, you two will have to get really close." He finished and led them out the door.
They walked out the door together and Michaela went to her and Jared trailed her.
"What are you doing?" Michaela asked.
"Oh I just thought we were coming over here together. To you know, like, uh, talk.. or something." Jared stuttered.
"Right. Ok whatever." Michaela replied sassily.
She took a seat in her chair and he leaned against her desk.

"So.. what's your name?" He attempted to start a conversation.

"I'm Michaela Stone. And I believe I heard that you're Jared Vasquez?" Michaela mumbled.

"Oh yeah I'm Jared. Can I call you Mik?" Jared asked. Michaela's eyes left her paperwork and shot up at him.

"No please don't." She replied.

"Too bad... Mik" Jared said and grinned. Michaela acted mad but couldn't for long. She began to laugh hysterically and her head dropped to her desk. Jared began to chuckle and soon the whole office was staring at their giggle fit.
After they both calmed down a bit Jared remarked, "No matter how much you'll pretend to hate me, I know you love me already, Mik" with a laugh.
She rolled her eyes and scoffed.

"Hey giggle buddies can you guys chill out?" Some one yelled at them. They both erupted in another short fit of giggles. Jared reached down and grabbed some paperwork Michaela was working on.

"So whats our first adventure together gonna be?" He asked her excitedly.

"Well I'm working on this case right now, but I almost have it closed." She replied.

"Oh ok. Anything else to work on?" He asked her.

"No I don't think so."

"Maybe we could get to know each other?" Jared asked hopefully.

"Oh, uh, yeah sure. So you're new in town?" Michaela asked him.

"Yep. I don't really have anywhere to stay yet. Just the new guy." He sighed and shrugged wishfully.
