It was a windy day on the ever expanding mountains of the Sinnoh Region. A lone Lucario was guiding her daughter atop the perilous cliffs, making sure that the two of them can traverse safely. "Mommy?" The Riolu asked, looking up at her mother. "Why cant we look for food on the ground...?" The Lucario looks back at the child, smiling warmly. "Because hon, we cant handle the competition down there. People have just become too territorial." She looks up, seeing the rocky peaks piercing the grey clouds. "Theres no one up here. We can have all of the food in the world, if we can find any." They continue their trek, silent.
Hours later, a storm approaches from the East. The pair attempt to keep their footing, but ravenous winds continue to assault them. Boulders tumble down around them, nearly crushing them. The Riolu yells above mother nature's wails, trying to gain the attention of her own mother. "M-MOM! WE NEED TO GET BACK DOWN!" The Lucario looks back at her, lightning her grip. "NO! This is nothing! We've been through way worse, right?! Cmon!" The two continue. But all too soon, a huge boulder rolls down the face of the cliffs. It bounces on and off the side, gaining more and more speed. The Riolu tries to get ahead of her mother. "You obviously have ZERO idea where we're going! I'm getting us to a cave or somethin!" She runs, her mother desperately trying to keep up with her. "LUA DONT! YOUR GOING TO FALL!" As she chases her daughter, the boulder rolls into view, right above the Riolu.
The Lucario see's this, and her heart stops. "HOLY SHIT-" She uses Extreme Speed, her paws exerting as much aura as they can to shoot her body through the violent winds, getting closer and closer to her daughter. She's feet away before...
...the boulder crushes her tiny little body.
For a full minute, the Lucario stares at it. Completely unable to process what she just saw. It couldn't be real. After snapping back into reality, she screams at the top of her lungs and completely lifts the boulder off the ground, looking frantically in the rubble. She shifts around it with her feet, tying not to crush herself with the boulder.
She uncovers a corpse. Completely crushed. Her bones are mangled, her skin torn everywhere it can be. Crimson blood everywhere.
The Lucario struggles to breath. The boulder weighing on her body, and her daughter now weighing on her heart. She was so, so incredibly stupid. If she would of just not taken charge, the two of them would be sleeping, safe and sound in some little cove in the forest. But now, she has lost everything.Tears swell up in her eyes. She looks up at the heavy rock, and back down at her daughter. Without words, she heaves the boulder up into the air. She crawls besides her daughter, closing her eyes and trying to calm herself with memories of what could have been. It all cuts to black.
But her eyes open once more. She feel's heavy, tired, sloggy. She looks around. Pure darkness. She gives a heavy sigh, simply accepting this as the afterlife. Atleast she'll get some well deserved rest. She rolls over, onto something small and soft. Cant be important.
"...an...ou ge..."
The Lucario's ears flicker, the cries of her child still ringing in-
"CAN YOU GET OFF ME?!"
The Lucario's eyes jolt open, as she jumps back in hysterics. She looks at whats left of her daughter, a small little skeleton. She seems pretty peppy for someone who just got crushed to death. "L..L-Lua...?"
The skeleton tilts her head, appearing to think for a moment. "Y...Yeah i'm pretty sure i am. And your my mom, right? What happened? We're all.. hard and white." The Lucario looks at her own paws, her dark grey fur faded with age. Then back at her daughter. Her beautiful daughter. It's a miracle that she's back.
But the Lucario contemplated, she feels the urge to at least attempt to lead her family through this new journey into the afterlife... but does she even have the capability? She's the one who caused all of this, she's the one that got them into this situation in the first place. If she fails now, who knows what will happen to them?
Endless agony... eternal wandering... nothing sounds like a good option. So... she may as well just leave. Her daughter is ten times as smart as her, she knows how to make much better decisions. "It's.. We're dead. So, this is where we part ways." The Lucario turns around, and walks off paws at her sides. (if only she had a jacket to put her paws in, but thats unrelated)
"H-HEY! YOU CANT JUST LEAVE ME HERE! I'M A KID!" The Riolu runs after her. The Lucario looks back at her with a forced expression of indifference. "Look, we dont have anything to do with eachother now, alright? You decide what to do, whether it's following me or goin on your own. But now, i want nothing to do with that decision." The Riolu stops in her tracks, a scowl growing on her face as her 'former' mother continues walking. Why would she abandon her at this time, of all times? It's not like SHE knows anymore than her mother does. In anycase she decides to follow her, hopefully she'll stop this nonsense once they find a home.
But that may just not be the case.
