I'm walking along the sidewalk and I glanced over the grass and I suddenly stop. I walk over to the grass, bend over, and pick up a wallet. Resuming my walk, I open up the wallet and look inside, and a strange feeling comes over me that makes me stop in my tracks
Inside the wallet, I see a bloody necklace that looks strangely familiar. I grab the necklace and pull it out of the wallet. I spin it around for a moment, then my breath hitches in my throat. I come to the realization. The necklace is Elena's. My lovely Elena. I haven't seen her since I left two years ago. My breathing becomes labored and I come to the worst possibility. (155)What if she's dead? I search my pocket for my phone. I dial her number and call her.
" Hello?" A lovely voice answered from the other line.
" Elena? It's Sam." I say. I heard nothing but breathing on the other line for a moment.
" Sam, what do you want? You left, remember?" She says. I sigh in relief. She is alive.
" Lena, where's your necklace? You know, the one from your mom." I ask.
" I lost it. Why?" She says. I chuckle slightly.
" Well, I have it here. Although it's a little bloody. Where are you? I can bring it to you if you want." I say, trying to get in her good graces.
" I don't think that's a good idea, Sam." She says kind of nervously.
" Why not, Lena?" I ask while getting suspicious. She doesn't say anything for a while.
" Because of my..........brother. Yeah, my brother. You know how Jeremy gets." She says. I know she is lying because she took forever to say brother. I take out my computer and start to track the cell phone. It takes me awhile but I finally get a pinpoint on where she is. She is in Mystic Falls. I drive to her house in Mystic Falls. I get out of the car and see her quaint house. I walk up the flower lined sidewalk and knock on the door. A man, who looks around my age, opens the door.
" Sorry, I must have the wrong house. I'm looking for Elena Gilbert. Do you know where she is?" I ask.
" You're not at the wrong house, but may I ask who you are?" He says.
" Oh, right I'm Sam." I say.
" I'm Stefan, Elena's boyfriend." He says. My face drops and I turn to leave.
" Hey, don't you need to see Elena?" Stefan asks. I just shake my head no and leave. I hear someone coming after me. I stopped and turned around. Elena stopped running and looked at me.
" I'm sorry, Sam. I should've told you." She says. I just walk away and get into my car and drive. I don't know where I'm going until I reach the place where I found the wallet. For a moment, I stare off into the distance, and then put the wallet back where I found it.
