it was windy outside today. however the sun was beating down on all of them. they never really got to go to the park much since we were so busy, but today was a little unordinary.
the seven girls sat on two towels that were side by side. they were meant to have a picnic, but nobody was eating the different foods laid out.
kamry was reading a book. most likely rereading the harry potter series. tate and juniper were in their own small conversation. the remaining four played cards.
suddenly they heard a loud shriek come a young boy, who was being chased by his mom, dad, and sister. there were smiles on all of their faces as the played the game of tag.
the girls froze, staring at the happy family. their euphoria inflicted something in the girls.
perhaps it was jealousy of a real human family.
out of nowhere the atmosphere was ice cold, but everyone around them weren't affected. only the girls could feel it. for a moment they almost thought that it was because of their sudden drop in their mood, but no.
georgia looked around. her eyes locked with a man with shaggy black hair. his eyes were piercing purple, and he had something behind him. it was a shadow. no. shadows don't move on their own.
it was a demon. he was a hunter.
georgia looked away and began standing up. the girls followed her without any question. it was clear what was out there.
they grabbed their things and stormed out of the park. it was the last time they ever saw the happy family, but it made them want something. the car door slammed shut and they drove away.
their day off was slipping away. soon they would be in a whole different part of the world, but at least they had each other.
