A Second Chance

Chapter 1

Ruby and Cedric were laughing and chatting away, nothing pressuring them anymore, when Death made a sudden appearance.

"Hello, Death. Is there anything you need?" Ruby asked, tilting her head to the side.
"Yes. The other entities and I have decided that your past life wasn't fare so we are willing to give you a second chance. Do you wish to stay here, be reborn in an alternate universe or go back to a specific point of time in your past lives and live from then on?" Death asked.
"I kind of want to go back. Maybe to when Cedric and I got our acceptance letters?" Ruby asked, looking at Cedric for conformation.
"I would like that." Cedric said.
"Very well. As a gift, each of the entities have decided to take roles as friends, family, and such, to help you in your life-" Death was cut off by Life showing up.
"Hello little ones." She said kindly.
"Lady Life. Nice to see you." Ruby said politely.
"Nice to see you too, Ruby. As Death was going to tell you. Ruby, you will be getting a small fraction of my magic to help you. Cedric will be getting some of Deaths as well. We have also chosen for you to be our masters, that meaning you will be able to summon us at any time. Other perks is that you get some more of our abilities. Ruby, you will be more connected to the earth than you have ever been. You will also be an empath, one with light creatures, and a Submissive Light Forest Lord."
"Cedric, you will be a master of the darks arts, necromancy, and anything pertaining to death. You will also have a small fraction of my magic, will be able to summon the deathly hollows, control dark creatures, and will be a Dominant Dark Forest Lord." Death said.
"Together, you will be Yin and Yang, not to mention, when you both die, you will be able to live here." Life finished.
"Okay." Both Cedric and Ruby said, smiling to each other when they said it at the same time.

As soon as they said that, Life and Death grinned to each other. Suddenly Ruby was surrounded by a bright white light, while Cedric was surrounded by a dark black light. The next thing that both teens knew they were in their homes, holding their Hogwarts acceptance letters.

-Ruby's P.O.V.-

'Alright, gotta act like I did when I was 9...' I thought.

Looking to my mum, I squealed in delight, smiling as I held up my acceptance letter proudly. My mum smiled at my proudly while my papa looked at me in shock.

"I got my Hogwarts Letter Mum!" I said happily.
"Congratulations honey! Mummy always knew you could do it!" My mum said happily.
"Can we go to Digonally?" I asked.
"Of course!" My papa laughed.

I smiled, running up to my room to get my shoes on. Once done, I ran back down and grinned when we aparaited to to the wizarding ally. Once there, I was smiling at all the wizarding things I saw. While we were walking toward Florets and Blots book shop, I bumped into someone, falling on my butt. I winced, but looked up to who I had bumped into and was surprised to see it was Cedric. He stuck his hand out to me and helped my up, causing me to blush.

"Hello. My name is Cedric Diggory." He said, smiling kindly while he shook my hand.
"Nice to meet you Cedric Diggory. My name is Ruby Peverell." I said, giggling when his jaw dropped.

'I forgot how different I looked when I was 9 to when I was 15...' I thought, remembering how my hair had been....was currently... really short, and I looked more like a boy than a girl.

"Well, if it isn't Mr. Peverell!" Mr. Diggory said, coming up behind Cedric.
"Mr. Diggory!" My papa said, shaking Mr. Diggory's hand.
"It's been a while. How have you been?" Mr. Diggory said.
"I've been good. My little princess over here just got her acceptance letter 2 years before she turns 11!' My papa said proudly, placing a hand on my shoulder.

Mr Diggory looked at me, his eyes wide in surprise.

"Well I'll be. She is quiet the smart little fella aren't she? Rather adorable too. Bet she's gonna be in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff with that little brain of hers." Mr Diggory said, smiling. "Nice to meet you, little Peverell. This is my son Cedric. He'll be in your year." He said, placing a hand on Cedric's shoulder.

I smiled, placing my hand out.

"Hi. My name is Ruby. Nice to meet you Cedric." I smiled, my grin getting bigger when he smiled back.
"Might I say the same, Ms. Peverell." Cedric said, shaking my hand, winking when no one was looking.

While the adults talked, Cedric and I began getting the books we needed for the up coming year. Once done with that, we went to a fancy looking dress shop called 'Dallila's Dresses, Outfits, and Robe's.' Walking in, we got our robes for Hogwarts, we went and got our wands. After that, we went to the pet shop to get our pets.

I imediently went to get Helga, Salazar, Godric, and Rowena. Once I had those I was pulled farther down the bird section till I found a pure white Phoenix with black eyes.

"Hello Pretty." I said, smiling at the sight of the pretty Phoenix in front of me.
'Hello Ruby. It's me, Life.' Life said through the mind link, trilling to everyone else.
"Hello. Do you want me to get you too?" I asked.
"Please do, I don't like how cramped this cage is." Life trilled.
"What should I call you?" I asked.
"Blanc." She sang.
"Alright. Umm Mum, Papa? Can I get these? Their my familiars..." I mumbled.
"All of them are?" My Papa asked, his eyes bludging out of his head.
"Yes?" I said, curling into myself.
"Of course Darling!" My mum said, pride shining in her eyes.

When we got to the counter, Godric and Helga were walking at my feet, Salazar was on my arm, and Blanc and Rowena were on my shoulders.

"Hello sir? Can I get these? Their my familiars..." I asked, pointing to them all.

The cashier just nodded dumbly.

"All familiars are free due to the fact that they are bonded to the wizard and are not just pets." The cashier said.
"Thank you!" I smiled, leaving the store.

After leaving the store I met up with Cedric. He had a black cat on his shoulders.

"Nice Phoenix." Cedric said.
"Nice Cat." I answered. "Let me guess. His name is Noir." I stated.
"How did you know?" He asked sceptically.
"Life asked me to call her Blanc." I stated, motioning to the Phoenix.
"That makes so much sense." Cedric said, looking at his cat.
'Hello Death' I said through the mind link.
'Hello kit.' Death answered.

Soon after that we had gotten all that we needed for Hogwarts and to depart. I smiled and kissed Cedric on the cheek than aparaited with my family.
