roller rink - kamisero

chapter one

"shoe size?" sero hanta asked from behind the red, dirty counter.

"8 women's." a brown haired girl responds, laughing with her friends to the side as she waits for her skates. they're handed to her, and she gives a rushed thanks before hurrying off with her friends and the skates.

he smiled as they left the counter, walking to the rink in front of his station. sero loved watching people skate on the rink; he loved the joy that ran around that circle from 10 AM to 11 PM. most of the time, sero worked the whole 13 hours the place was open. he usually worked at the prize booth, but his coworker called in (again), so he was manning both for the time being. he didn't mind it, though. regulars knew his name, and he had several friends that visited him while he worked. his boss would even let him keep the place open late so him and his friends could have the rink to themselves.

it was a good life.

kaminari denki lived for skateboarding. he spent long summer nights out on the open streets, the wind moving through his bright blond hair. when his friends invited him to go roller blading, he accepted with excitement, assuming his "previous experience" would aid him.

it did not.

he fell and wobbled all over the rink, and his friends laughed as they circled around him. his competitive side raged with a need to be better.

he decided to start practicing at a different rink, a rink on the other side of town where his friends would never see him. he was getting better, much better. no distractions, only the rink and the surprisingly good music that was played over the loudspeakers.

no distractions, until he noticed a very, very beautiful boy that worked behind the counter. he was gorgeous, with straight black hair that came down in spikes. he had wide eyes and a heart-stopping smile he flashed to every customer.

denki found it hard to skate while he stared behind him, trying to get a better look at the boy behind the counter.
