A/n: Hi, this is my first story about the Carpathians. PLEASE comment it only makes me want to write more on this story and it helps me grow as a writer. Now on to the story...
I curled up into the cave wall, the chains around my ankles, wrists, and throat digging into my skin. The vampire would wake up soon and would torture me till the big light off in the distance rose above the tall trees. The sent of my blood thick in the air. I pulled my knees to my chest. I heard growls and shouts, their echos bouncing around the cave. W-why is he mad? I heard his laughter. His horrible, icky laughter. I whimpered again fear crashing against me again and again. Soon I could smell something burning. Was he going to burn me with that heavy stick again? I hugged my knees closer to my chest biting my lip drawing blood. I heard more shouting, but I didn't try to decipher it as it was made hard to hear it clearly. I glanced up every now again, when I could muster the courage. After a particularly long time I saw not one but two people. I wrapped my arms quickly wrapped around my head and shaking.
"Shh, it's ok young one. We are not vampire. We will not hurt you." One of them said, inching closer. I could only tell because I could hear him moving. I wanted to believe him, but it was most likely the vampire messing with me again. I shook my head. I felt something that felt like a hand, touch my ankle where the chain was. I felt it as he removed it. His hands were warm, not cold like the vampires were. He took off the other one on my ankle and a thought popped in to my head. The vampire never, never, took off the chains. They weren't vampires. Maybe I could trust them. Maybe they were like the women that had been here once. The one who had unlocked my ankles looked at me making sure he didn't scare me. He had violet eyes and brown hair. Dark brown hair. He grabbed my wrists and unlocked them. He then saw the one around my neck. He reached up and took it off.
"Can you walk, curajos unul?" He asked looking at me tenderly like the lady had. I shook my head. I hadn't ever learned how to walk till I was thirteen, and I hadn't stood up for several years. He smiled at me sadly and picked me up resting me on his hip I flinched at being above the ground, it never ended well for me. I held on to his shirt tightly. he kissed my head and they started walking towards the little opening. To my surprise it started to get bigger until it was bigger than us. For some reason I felt safe with this man. I knew he would not hurt me, I hope i'm right.
