The sky is more blue in Malibu

Millie's P.O.V

After the whole last day fiasco I decided that the spring break was just for me time. I haven't thought much about the Malibu ticket receipts because it seemed like a mistake. I ran into my house just to be greeted with my mom smiling widely. This was unusual.

"Hey mom, what's up?" I said suspiciously

"You are up. I mean your going up- flying to Malibu."

"Mom I told you those tickets were probably not for me. Drop it."

"No honey, it's first class, I've packed your suitcase and given the other tickets away." She said while grinning and squealing.

"Mom! What the hell! I don't want to go" I said, she must think I'm crazy missing a free opportunity to go to Malibu.

"Your not realising the best part. The hotel is so exclusive and your with your best friends so, why not." She said casually.

"Wait my best friends? Mom what are you talking about?"

"Yesss! I called Emily's mom and Sadie's dad and they approved their really excited."

"Mom, seriously?"

"Yes, now got to bed. My daughter is going to Malibu she needs her beauty sleep." She said while clapping her hands.

I got to my room to see everything tidied away and a suitcase in the corner, which appeared to be bulging at the seams. What did she pack,
my garden? I lay on my bed and looked at my pin board. Another note.

If I could do it all again

Finn. I wondered if he genuinely meant well when he tried to speak to me today. Hopefully I could get an explanation as to why he ditched me before high school. Wait I would be in Malibu most of break. Great. Anyways time for my sleep.

(The next day)

I got up early this morning to go to the airport. Once I got there I saw Emily and Sadie. Obviously they over reacted with this entire crazy situation.

"I can't believe you found tickets to Malibu. Your a great friend you know that. In fact a great sister" Emily said

"Ditto that, I'm so glad I met you and not just because it's a free trip, your honestly so great no matter how many times you stop us talking bout Finn" Sadie says

I gave them big hugs before hearing our plane number over the speakers.
Once on the plane we went to our first class seats which were so cool might I add, and settled in. The plane was 3 minutes away from flying off when all of a sudden you hear the pounding of footsteps and shouts.
What in the hell was that. How loud could people get? I plugged my earphones back in but I was hindered once again from listening to my music when I heard a scream

"Eeeeeeeeek Caleb! What are you doing here?" Sadie screamed

Caleb?

"Am I dreaming or is that you Noah?" Emily asked

Noah

Wait. That left one person

"Hey Mills." Finn whispered

I looked up at him. Stood up, grabbed my bags and tried to leave the plane.

"No wait Millie. Stop. Please." I heard from his stupid mouth

I ignored his useless attempt of trying to get me to sit down and still shook the handle of the plane door. Hmm it just wouldn't budge. I sighed deeply, barged past Finn and sat in my seat. I put my head in my hands and that's when I began crying. Why was I crying? I'm not weak what the hell is wrong with me? Finn did this, he always brought this emotive side of me that I tried so hard to bury after what happened. I couldn't handle this right now.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked to the side of me. Well of course Finn had to be sitting there of all places. Everything seemed so planned.

"I didn't want to be here in the first place. I felt bad for my mom because she thinks I have social issues. I don't but she doesn't know that. I'm just trying to make her happy y'know" I whispered.

"I get that. The only reason I'm here is because I promised my mom I would work hard in school. It's kind of like a gift. Plus my friends benefit from it as well." Finn replied

"But I didn't even buy the tickets for this trip. They were just there one day and my mom pressured me to go." I said

"About that... I kind of got your tickets" he whispered. I heard him.

"I knew it. I'm not that lucky. I hope you know I really hate you. Like a whole bunch" I said "but my friends and mom seem happy so I'll go for them but not for you, never for you"

"It's cool, I just wanted to apologise for what happened in school. You didn't deserve that and I don't hate Jacob as much as I used to" he said

I smiled at him for once in my life, before proceeding in blocking my ears after Emily screamed, "Oh Em Gee, Millie are you actually smiling while Finn is here. God I must be in a parallel universe or something."

"Sorry about her she's a bit... extra" I quickly said

"It's fine Mills, now I know just how much you hate me" he said laughing although it seemed sad almost.

I finally put my earphones back in my ears and began to play rose coloured by paramore such a bop.

(2 hours later)

We finally landed and once we had all grabbed our stuff we made our way to the luxury hotel we where staying. My mom was right this is nice. We got to the lobby when we overheard a boy about our age arguing with one of the staff

"Well if you just give me a few bucks I'll fix the mini fridge for you guys." He said

"Gaten, I would but Mr Keery would kill me. He hates it when you don't take responsibility."

"Joes stupid he thinks he owns me when in reality I'll take over this hotel when he drops dead. I'm going to tell mom I swear" he screamed back "Oh shit there's people here"

I waved slightly

"Hey there what suite are you in?" He said

"We don't know all that we have is a receipt for room 353."

"Awe sick I've always wanted that room. My mom says gatey baby work hard and maybe your brother will let you stay there one day, even she know that's total bullshit. Anyways I'll take you there, now that it's spring break I don't have to work."

We all hesitantly looked at each other before getting in the elevator with the boy with wild hair.

Hmm, just like Finns.

..................................................................................................................

And that's chapter five. I knew I couldn't leave Gaten out of this book so obviously I had to fit him in somewhere either way he's a main character. He'll become very involved.
