34 - Puppy Love

3 PM.

Baekhyun was standing in front of the large doors, waiting for his sign to enter the large hall to give a speech in front of many reporters, his manager and the company's head. It was the time to reveal his big secret and he was surely nervous how people would react to it. Mostly, he was worried about Sumins reaction who was watching the whole press conference on her phone.

"You can go in now." The staff told the idol and he nodded, taking a deep breath before entering the large room so he could walk on shaky legs to his seat in front of the crowd.

The camera flashes were starting and Baekhyun gulped when suddenly he got uncomfortable by any second. Before he could start his part, his manager began talking to start off the conference calmly, making sure that every reporter understood the rules of the questioning. The idol listened carefully and drank from his water bottle to calm his nerves while his blood was rushing through his body.

The door opened next to Baekhyun and he turned his head quickly to the side, meeting the eyes of the leader of the group and a relieved sigh escaped his mouth. As Joonmyeon walked towards the tables, he bowed at the audience and sat next to Baekhyun, patting his shoulder and giving him the encouragement to go up and explain the whole situation.

"Why are you here?" Baekhyun asked quietly and chewed on his lip. 

"I'm here to support you." Joonmyeon smiled and fixed his jacket while his eyes scanned the large room. 

The younger one felt how the uncomfortable feeling got off his shoulders. Now, he had the thoughts that it would go well. "Baekhyun would like to explain his situation now. Please, ask him one by one and he'll give you his answers." The manager said into the microphone.

Baekhyun got up from his seat and Joonmyeon gave him a small smile. The idol stood in front of many people and the flashlights were making him struggle to speak up, the weird feelings came back up and his throat was dry as hell, like it was knotted which caused him to stutter.

"H-hello, I'm Byun Baekhyun, a member of the group Exo." He choked out and took a break to calm down. "Many people were curious because I met up with someone and spend days at a different place and not my dormitory. Fans were following me to that place and took pictures of the people who lived there, which is not okay. I take the full responsibility for that, and I'm sorry to the people who suffered because of me and my actions." Baekhyun said loudly and everyone was filming him with large cameras. Sweat was forming on his palms and forehead while his eyes were wandering from one reporter to another one, stern looks on their face which obviously made Baekhyun even more nervous when he continued.  "The reason why I visited the building was because my stylist lives there. She didn't just work only for me, but for all of my members. I won't reveal her name because she doesn't work for us anymore but we still are close friends, and we often meet up. She is one my best friends and she also takes care of my dog, which was also a reason for our meet ups." Baekhyun said and bit on his lip, knowing that Sumin is still watching him the whole time made him rethink about the whole situation.

Was ist really okay for him to lie about his relationship with the girl?

"I never slept at her place. For an idol, it's hard to meet up with females since there are quickly rumors made up about dating someone. I can guarantee you all that I'm single and that I'm not dating that person, we are just close friends. I don't have the time to date since my schedule is filled up with many concerts and releases of new songs."

"Then why do you have time to meet up with her when your schedule is actually filled up?" One reporter asked loudly and Baekhyun turned towards the woman.

"My dog is the only one I actually bought here to the city. My family doesn't live here so I see him as a member of it. I try to visit him and take care of him, since I'm his owner. The person isn't always there when I pay a visit to my dog and I'm the only one besides her who knows the password to the apartment." Baekhyun explained himself and the reported typed in his statement. "I want to make sure that there's nothing going on between me and her. She's just a close friend who used to work for us and who helps me out with my dog. Please be respectful to her privacy and don't disturb her. This goes also for my fans, please don't harass her and give her privacy."
