Chapter 17

(Your POV)

"-There you are..."

We both turned around and saw Absalom entering Perona's room. Once he walked closer to us, he stopped right in front of me and held his hand out.

You- "Absalom..."

Absalom- "...(Y/N), I have been looking everywhere for y-"

Perona- "Absalom!! Get out of my room!!"

Absalom- "I AM NOT TALKING TO YOU P-!"

Perona- "I HAD ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT I DON'T WANT YOU IN MY ROOM!!!"

Absalom- "WILL YOU JUST BE QUIET?! I just came to take my bride back to our r-"

Perona- "-well too bad!! she doesn't even want to go back with you!"

Absalom- "What?! Says who?!"

Perona- "ME!! You already had your time with (Y/N), its my turn now!!!"

Absalom- "My bride is not a toy, Perona!!"

Perona- "But I want some girl time too!!! do you know how boring it is being the only girl on this ship?!?!"

Absalom- "Too bad!! She is MY bride and I need to look out for her, especially since she has an injury!"

Perona- "Injury?! Well if she's injured then why did you let her wander off all by herself?"

Absalom- "Did you even listen when I said that I had been searching everywhere for her!! Why else would I even be in here?!"

Perona- "To bug me, like you always do!!"

Absalom- "NO!! I came because I had been worried sick about her!!"

Perona- "Oh yeah? Since when do YOU care about a girl's safety?"

Absalom- "Who said that I didn't care?!"

Perona- "Okay Absalom, if you care sooooooo much about her, then how about YOU tell her what happened to her village."

I suddenly saw Absalom's face turn pale in an instant .

Absalom- "Um....I...er....hmm..."

Absalom suddenly looked away, almost like he didn't want to look at me. I suddenly got up from Perona's bed to walk towards him but he stepped back when I did.

You- "Absalom?..."

Absalom- "........."

I almost felt heart broken, did Absalom know something about my village but never wanted to tell me? But, why didn't he? I mean it can't be bad can it? My village was always out of harm's way, the only time it was ever in danger was when those pirates showed up.

I then remembered the captain's final words when I blacked out after one of his crew members hit the back of my head with a bottle.

"MEN! BURN DOWN THE WHOLE VILLAGE!"

I suddenly felt my eyes getting watery but I managed to keep myself from crying.

No..no no no, it can't be! My village is destroyed? And my friends? my family? What has happened to them?...No I need to know what happened!!

I then walked up to Absalom and placed my hand on his cheek so I could turn his head towards me.

You- "Absalom.....please tell me.....what happened to my village?"

Absalom saw my eyes getting watery and he took a deep breath before reaching into his coat. He then pulled out a newspaper and held it out to me.

You- "What...what is this?"

Absalom- "......Just read it."

I looked at him very confused but decided to just take the newspaper from his hand and looked at it. The headline was enough to make my stomach drop.

BREAKING NEWS: (VILLAGE NAME) WAS DESTROYED BY BLAZE. 

I was too focused on the pictures to even read the article. It showed my whole village was burned down and that there was nothing left of it, just ashes and collapsed houses. I then saw my destroyed house on one of the pictures and I suddenly felt a tear roll down my eye.

Perona- "(Y/N)?"

I didn't even bother looking at Perona or Absalom, knowing that they would feel sorry for me. I then took a deep breath and started reading the article:

This just in, the little village (Village name), that has been unknown to most due to its peaceful nature and hidden location, has been raided by the notorious Storm Pirates. They have been known to search and destroy villages for their money and/or treasures and if either fail, then the whole village gets executed based on ancient torture methods, the most famous being by impalement. 

No survivors or deaths have been reported after marines have reached the island, the only evidence shown is that the Raid Pirate's jolly roger had been drawn on the dirt right by the seashore. Marines have found the scene to be disturbing due to the fact that the village had been burned to smithereens, yet there are no bodies lying around. 

"It is nearly impossible for anyone to have survive the Storm Pirates. They raid and they kill, its all these low-lives know how to do. But since there are no corpses lying around, I will continue the investigation on the missing villagers and I won't stop until we find them all. As for the Raid Pirates, they will understand the true meaning of justice once I finally get my hands on them." says Marine Vice Admiral Smoker.

Further details on the investigation will be reported in the future but the Vice Admiral says he can't make any promises, due to the violent nature of the Storm Pirates.

After I finished reading the article, I looked at the published date and saw that the newspaper was a little over a week ago, the same time I had been taken. I kept my head down then slowly folded the newspaper and dropped it to my side.

Absalom- "(Y/N)...I've been meaning to tell you what happened...but after reading that article.....I didn't want to worry you, I'm sorry..."

You- "........."

Perona- "You still weren't honest with her Absalom.."

Absalom glared at Perona before he knelt down in front of me to look at my face but was saddened when he saw tears running down my cheeks.

Perona- "This is all your fault Absalom!!"

Absalom- "I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU PERONA!!"

Perona scoffed and turned away from us.

Absalom- "I've been waiting for the next report regarding your village, in hopes that everyone has survived. I knew how much you cared about them and I just......I didn't want to be the reason for those tears to stain your beautiful face..."

I slowly looked up at Absalom as he gently wiped my tears away with his thumb.

Absalom- ".....You should get some rest....you must be very tired after everything you went through."

I didn't know if I was sad or mad, or maybe both? But all I know is that my village is gone, and that everyone I've known and loved has gone missing. And its all because of me...no...because of that bastard....he just had to find my village and ruined all our hard work. I'm just glad Absalom killed him, or at least I hoped he did. But right now I just want to forget about today.

I nodded my head and Absalom gently took my hand and lead me out of Perona's room.

Perona- "HEY!! I STILL WANT TO HAVE MY GIRL TIME WITH (Y/N)!!"

Absalom just ignored Perona and he closed the door after we left.

"ABSALOM, YOU JERK!!!"
