Meeting The New Jerk

Theo's POV

It's been two weeks since mom's death. I'm slowly recovering and Pip has been visiting everyday. Dad's been trying to act strong but I hear him cry every night. Today was the day I was going back to school. I haven't went since mom's death. I got ready for school and went downstairs. Dad was making pancakes.

"Morning dad..."

"Morning kiddo." He placed a plate of pancakes in front of me.

"Eat up I'm going upstairs to change."

"Okay dad." I start eating pancakes. Dad is finally going back to work so we had to leave earlier than usual. He dropped me off at school and it was still really early. Not a lot of kids were there yet. More kids came in a bit later. I headed towards my locker and as I was putting my stuff inside, someone tapped my shoulder.

"Hey what do you want?"

"I just wanted to talk to you pretty lady." I rolled my eyes at the comment.

"I'm George. George Eacker." He winked at me. I got so annoyed.

"And I'm annoyed. Really annoyed. Now if you would excuse me I have to be somewhere."

"Feisty aren't ya?" I noticed two other boys watching us from afar I figured they were friends of George.

"Why don't you and your friends go and annoy someone else?" I pointed to his friends over there who looked surprised when I pointed them out. He looked back at them and I quickly shut my locker and bolted to find Pip. Luckily, George's idiotic mind didn't decide to follow me. I looked everywhere for Pip and couldn't find him so I just headed to class. Pip finally came into class with all the other kids.

"Oh Pip there you are! You wouldn't believe wh-" I got cut off by Mr. Seabury.

"Silence class! It's time to work." The whole class went silent afterward. I couldn't tell Pip what happened during our other classes either. Finally lunch came and I was walking with Angie. Last period Pip told me he was gonna find Will and come with us later on. I told Angie what happened.

"What a jerk!"

"I know Angie! He wouldn't leave me alone so I had to make a run for it." We sat down at a table. Soon enough George and his two friends approached us.

"Hey ladies."

"Go away George."

"I just wanted to introduce you to my friends Peter Jefferson and John Madison." Peter had short, messy, black hair. My mind went back to Mary Jefferson. God that's her brother... I'm pretty sure Peter's dad and John's dad have visited my house before. John looked much like his father.

"I also believe I never caught your name." George leaned closer towards me.

"My name is Theodosia now back off!" I pushed him back.

"What a wonderful name." He looked at Angie. "Who's your friend over here?"

"My name is Angelica. Now could you leave us alone?"

"I don't think I'm ever gonna leave you two outta my sight."

Philip's POV

I started looking for Theo and Angie and found them. But, I saw George, Peter, and John. God what are they doing here... I've known George since I was a kid and frankly, I hated him. I could hear their conversation from here. I saw Theo get up about to confront George. As much as I'd love to see her do that, I know how powerful George is so I started walking quickly over there. I went in between George and Theo. I faced George with Theo behind me.

"Hey back off George!" I snarled.

He scoffed. "It's you Philip. I was just talking to this wonderful lady over here." I started getting furious. I wasn't going to let him talk to Theo. I grabbed him by his shirt.

"Don't ever talk to Theo or Angie again." I let him go.

"Fine then, have it your way. But, I'm not giving up." He left with his gang.

"What did he say to you?" Theo and Angie explained everything.

I muttered under my breath. "That son of a-" I guess Theo heard me. "Language Pip!" She giggled afterward. Angie soon left me and Theo alone.

"Pip you know I could've defended myself..."

"Yeah I know but..." I paused for a moment trying to find the right words. "I will always be defending for you and only you." I made contact with her eyes.

"Thanks Pip..." We started walking around talking about George.

"So you've known George ever since you were kids?"

"Yeah and I hate him. He's a jerk to everyone including me. I feel bad you have to listen to all the stupid things he says Theo..."

"It's alright Pip."

Theo's POV

When Pip told me he would always defend for me I got helpless. I really couldn't say anything except thanks. I should've said more. But yet, I couldn't. When he told me that I got thinking. What if he likes me? No... I never like admitting I have feelings for Philly... I have mixed feelings for Pip pretty much. We finished up school and I headed to the library. I've always loved reading books and I've become friends with the librarian who is also my Social Studies teacher this year, Mrs. Washington.

"Hello Mrs. Washington."

"Ah Theo I see you're back!"

"Yep do you have any new books I might be interested in?"

"Oh yes! We have this new book it's called Almost There. It's a romance fantasy. It's about two teenage girls looking for love, would you like to read it?" She pulled out the book from the counter showing me.

"Sure! It sounds very interesting!" She hands me the book and I start heading home. I opened up the door.

"I'm home!" I put down my backpack on the couch.

"I'm in my office dear!" I headed to dad's office.

"Hey dad look at this book I got today!" I showed him the book.

"It looks wonderful darling."

"How was work?"

"It was fine."

"Can I make dinner tonight?"

"Sure I missed your cooking anyway." I left to go to the kitchen. I set down my book on the counter. I grabbed my phone, started blasting one direction, the first song that played was moments, then I started cooking.
