The two found their Pods and took off. As he was looking out the pod window and his eyes slowly closed.
His mind did not rest however as he was drawn into a memory.

He looked forward and saw a younger version of his partner standing before him scowling.
" Try Again! You will master this technique or you will die on your first mission. I'll show you one more time! Pay attention!"
He drew back his fist and it started glowing he zoomed forward and punched a massive Boulder and shouted " Critical Strike" and an energy wave blasted from his fist and tore apart the rock.
Then he turned smugly and said
" now you."
Shallot felt his body move against his will. He preformed the move for the first time.

He sat forward in his pod as memories flooded his waking mind. He relived the billions he had killed with that move and the trillions he killed without it. He sighed shakily as his pod opened. Perhaps he had chosen the wrong dimension to enter.
