Chapter 11 - Rings

Stranded - Part 2

Rainbow's POV

Gold's leg was taken care of, and so was Funneh's eye. Turns out she can see again! But not as well as before that stick landed in her eye.

It has been a pretty good 2 months in the UK so far. I am still trying to find the mystery I so badly want to solve.

Present Day

I got out of bed and put on my clothes.

Rainbow's Outfit:

I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote 'I'll Be Back Soon' on it. I placed the note on the nightstand by Gold's hotel bed. She was still sound asleep under the covers of it.

I grabbed my room card and walked out of our hotel room. When I got downstairs the front desk lady was staring at me. "Where are you going at four in the morning? It's raining outside and your going to be freezing!" She said to me. "Uh, to the store to get groceries." I ran out of the hotel. "WAIT!" She screamed back at me, but I was already out of the building.

At the airport, I grabbed the airplane key out of my bag and unlocked the door towards my airplane. I saw planes speeding down the runway and taking off into the sky. Hundreds of people were in each plane. I finally got to my plane, James decided to give it to me officially, and hopped in it.

I started the plane by pressing the green button and the plane lit up with lights all over.

I flew the plane up, into the sky, and then looked at my map. I had marked where the island was a few months ago, when we were escaping it. A few hours later, I got to the island.

I flew the plane down near the shore. I got out of the plane and I could feel warm sand flying up into my shoes every time I took a step. I pulled the crystal ball I got from Lunar's nightstand yesterday, and looked at the map of the island on it. I was going to try to find out what happened to my parents.

"Maybe I'll try to look for clues in the sand." I said to myself, kneeling down to touch the warm particles. I pushed some of the sand away and found something that looked green! Maybe it was a gem or something. I pulled it out and realized it was just seaweed. I put it back in the sand, disgusted by the grease from it.

Maybe it would help if I looked at the place I washed up. I decided to go there.

On the crystal ball I saw a pink jewel, gold jewel, purple jewel, blue jewel, and green jewel. They couldn't have been trackers for my siblings and I, because those were dots and the Krew was not here right now. The pink jewel on the map was marking the exact place where I was standing. The jewels must mark where we washed up! I realized that Gold washed up quite close to me.

"Why hello, dear Rainbow." I turned to see Master. Lunar told me that Julie and Jen called him that. "Why are you here, girl? You know how dangerous I am so why did you come back?" Master asks. "I'm not telling you!" I say to him. "Your looking for your parents, aren't you?" I say nothing. "Well, do you want to know the truth about them?" He asks. "Tell me!" I exclaim.

"They are dead. When you got knocked off the boat you were going to England on, they pushed you and your siblings toward this island, so you could wash up here. Fortunately, they died. Niece, I have always been jealous of your dad. He always got the attention! He was always the favorite, while he left me in the dark. And on that day, I finally got revenge." Tears swell up in my eyes.

He's my uncle, my dad's brother.

"Darling, they are gone forever. And now, give me your ring." Master says. "Never!" It's the only thing I have to remind myself of my parents. And plus, it seems like this ring can do more than just look good.

"It's powerful and you don't know how to use it. Do you want to end up getting your siblings hurt?" Master asks, coming closer to me. I back away, towards the sea. "I will never hurt them!" I say. "But if you can't control your ring, then you can't control if you hurt them or not." He says. "What do you mean by control the ring?" I ask. "It has great power, and so does your siblings' rings. That plane could have never been fixed without you. And how do you think you knew how to fly it so suddenly, huh?"

"How do you know that I fixed James' plane?" "I think you forgot about my crystal ball that you have stolen from me. So I decided to make a new one." Master takes the second crystal ball out of his pocket and holds it up to his eyes. "It works better than my old one! And I have you marked on this map here. That's how I found you." He smirks at me. "Now, give me your ring if you don't want your siblings to get hurt." He says. I say nothing, just backing away, going into the cold water as he gets closer.

I can feel the water up to my knees,  slowing me down. Master grabs my arm and I fall backwards, his hand slipping off of mine. I feel the water rushing over my face and I see a glimpse of hands reaching down for me. I roll over, dodging the hands, and start to swim away, getting deeper as I go. Then I feel a very strong push, pushing me towards the middle of the sea.  I reach up above the water for breath and see a giant wave come crashing down over my head, pushing me under the water again. Salty water comes in through my mouth and I start to gag. I then hear loud noises, sounding like a propeller. They get fainter as I feel more and more light headed. I can feel multiple strong hands pulling me out of the water.
