Speed Trapped

I'm down in the Lab with Adam, Bree, Chase and Leo, still shaken up about last night with Mr Davenport and the whole Marcus sneaking into the Lab thing. We are talking about the new frozen yogurt place. Instead of me and Chase going out on a date there we decided that we'd all go together. "Tonight's the night! The new frozen yogurt shop is opening. 52 flavours and four of them are sugar free". Chase exclaimed excitedly. Bree gave him a look while I kissed him on the cheek. "Oh who are you kidding you passed out the first time Cassie showed you what nail polish was". Chase said, Bree shrugs and continues brushing her hair. Adam walked over wearing a big green jacket. "I've heard of those yogurt places. They get you for charging you extra for toppings. So I'm bringing my own". He unzipped his jacket to reveal all the candy in it. "You don't even want to know what's in my pants". He slapped his legs. "Oh! Hot butterscotch". I laughed as he waddled away. Mr Davenport walked over to us. "Sorry you guys are coming home straight after school. So no flavours, no fro-yo, no hanging with the bro's, peeps and homies". He said, I raised my eyebrows. "Bros, peeps and homies?". Bree questioned, Davenport nods. "No just don't!". She said. "What's got you so grouchy?". Leo asked as Mr Davenport walked away. "Did they run out of human foot stools and the rich guy club". He asked. "Did you forget your little buddy Marcus found the Lab yesterday,?". He asked us, I sigh. I tried so hard to forget. "He could have discovered our bionic secret!". He exclaimed. "Oh! Okay! So it's our fault that your million dollar smart home system didn't stop him?". Bree asked, we all got up and walked towards him. Eddie popped up. "Don't go there super girl, I was getting my beauty sleep. Something you might wanna look into". Eddie disappeared. "Look it doesn't matter who's fault it was. Even if someone was supposed to be watching him". Davenport pointed at Leo. "Well technically someone pulled me away letting Marcus roam free". Leo pointed back at Davenport. "Guys I think you're taking about each other". Adam said, I rolled my eyes. "Bottom line, I'm keeping a tighter leash on you three. And you two, since I can't always be there you guys have to do a better job of stepping up and watching out for them". Davenport said pointing at me and Leo, but mostly me. "Don't worry Mr Davenport, I know what I'm doing". I assured him. Leo decided to go with a different approach. "No problem Big D. I may have let one goon get to close, but I won't let anymore Marcus's does through the cracks". He said and then added. "From now on, you can call me the enforcer". He made a tough-guy pose. I chuckle. Leo's anything but a tough guy. "The enforcer Leo? You know I can-". Leo cuts me off. "Stop ruining this Cassie". I raise my hands up in surrender, Davenport gets a call and walks out. "The hammer is down people! No more talking to guys". Leo said. He pointed to Bree. "No more talking to girls". He pointed at Adam. "And no more helping old ladies to their cars". He pointed at Chase. I look at my boyfriend confused. "I was helped your grandmother". Chase protested, I chuckle and wrap an arm around my bionic boyfriend. "Trust no one!". Leo exclaimed getting up into Chase's face as he pulls me and Chase apart. "Leo, we can trust Cassie, right?". Adam asked. "Of course you can Adam". I said going back over to Chase, he pecks my cheek softly. "It's here, it's here, it's here!". Davenport came in doing a weird dance. "What? What is it?". Bree asked. "Whatever it is, I hope it came with a big box of masculinity, because I never want to see that again". Eddie popped in and out. "I have to agree with the computer in the wall". I said. "Just come here". He said and we all follow him into the garage where a totally awesome high tech looking car is. "Meet the worlds first self-driving car, designed by yours truly! That's right! Just when you thought I couldn't get more awesome, BOOM! I got more awesome!". Davenport exclaimed. "And BOOM! I still wanna be dropped off a block away from school". Bree said mocking Davenport. "And BOOM! I kinda took it for a spin last night". I said mocking Davenport. "WHAT!?". He yelled at me. "So how does this thing drive itself". Leo questioned sending me a wink. "Well, see this panel on top, well it receives a satellite signal-". I cut Davenport off. "And sends all the pertenate information to the cars on-board computer and-". Davenport cuts me off. "And viola! It drives itself, did I mention by the way, that this car goes 200 miles an hour? No? That's because it goes-". I cut Davenport off. "300, it goes 300 miles an hour". I said excitedly. Davenport gives me a look. "Sorry I got excited". I said. Davenport turned the car on. "Good evening Donald would you like to take a ride". The car asked. "She sounds classy". Leo said grinning. "Oh she is, I named her Veronica". I said. "She is not named Veronica!". Davenport exclaimed. Tasha came in before he could say anything. "Guys what are you doing?, you're going to be late for school! Go, go, go, go, go!". Everyone left grumbling except for me. "Did you really take a ride in my car?". Davenport asked. "Of course Verionica is gorgeous, later Mr D, bye Tasha". I said running out of the garage and catching up with the others. When we got to school Leo became the Enforcer again. Adam saw his crush Becky. "Hey Becky loving the new tee!". He said, she grinned. All got ruined when Leo decided to butt in. "Sorry Becky, Adam can't talk right now. He has a horrible disease. You better jet before his flesh starts eating itself!". Leo told her and Becky walked away in disgust. "Leo you are taking this Enforcer thing way to far". Bree told him. "I have no idea what you are talking about". Leo said before stopping James Mansdorf from my English class. "Hey!". He used a metal detector on him before saying. "You're good". And letting him walk past, I roll my eyes. Leo maybe my oldest and dearest friend and introduced me to Adam, Bree and Chase, but that kid is so messed up. "Hey guys, what's up?". Marcus asked coming up to us. "I'll tell you what's up, your time here! Get lost creepy!". Leo said and pointed the metal detector towards the cafeteria. "Silly Leo". He said laughing it off, there's something I recognise in that kid but I can't quite put my finger on it. "So are you guys excited for the new frozen yogurt shop?". He asked. "They're giving out unlimited toppings, Principal Perry's been camped out for a week!". He added. "What? Unlimited toppings? Someone could of told me that before I filled my socks up with gummy frogs". Adam said. I gave him the look, that look that says your a idiot, yeah I gave him that look. "Stranger danger". Leo motioned to Marcus with the metal detector, I shake my head. "Sorry Marcus we can't go". Chase said throwing an arm around my waist. Marcus looks at the two of us closely. "We have chores to do". Bree said pulling his focus away from me and my boyfriend. "No we don't we have an uptight dad who's afraid we'll reveal our secret-". We all give Adam a look. "Recipe for chilli, oh that works, lets go!". He said quickly, the bionics and Leo ran off, while I stayed behind with Marcus. "So Cassie are you coming tonight?". He asked. "Yeah I think so, Adam wants me to take a picture of the toppings bar for him". I said chuckling. Marcus laughs. "I bet he does, well I better get to class". Marcus said. "Wait Marcus before you go, I have to say something". I said. "Cassie I'm flattered but your dating-". I cut him off. "I'm not asking you out, I was gonna say. I feel like I know you. Have we met before?". I asked. "What! No! That's silly, crazy! No!, I gotta go". Marcus rambled before he ran off. Okay now I know something's up. Do I know Marcus. So I decided I would go to the new frozen yogurt place despite Chase not wanting me to go on my own. After the whole future Leo and Cassie thing, Chase has kept a tighter lease on me. Don't get me wrong I really really like him, but this is just a little too much. I buy my yogurt and head for the parking lot. I nearly walked straight into Mr Davenports self driving car. What is that doing here, I didn't take it this time. Adam, Bree and Chase hop out. "Guys what are you doing here?". I asked after hugging my boyfriend. "We snuck out". Adam said proudly. "Your not the only rebel". Chase teased. "Huh I never knew a rebel would have an emergency contact list in his pocket every where he or she went". I teased right back. Marcus came over admiring the car. "This thing is awesome". He said. "I know! You just say any destination and it automatically takes you there!". Chase said. "And yet no matter how many time I tell it 'take me to a better life', here I am". Bree said, I high five her. "And get this, it even has a compartment for your gloves!". Adam said. I hit him upside the head, he groans. "So guys the line looks pretty long, maybe we should just cruise this thing over to my house?". Marcus suggested. "I don't think that's a good idea-". Leo cuts me off by running up. "Hold it! Hold it!". He panted then had a stare down with Marcus. "Eddie told me you guys snuck out, you're all coming with me". Leo ordered. "No we're not!". Bree said. "Oh yes you are". Me and Leo said in unison. "You can't tell us what to do". I grab Chase's arm. "Yeah, you're not the boss of us! What did you do? Run over here?". Leo looks angry. "Yes!". The three bionics and Leo got into an argument and it was pretty long, even I couldn't make them see reason. "I'm warning you! Don't make me call for back up. Because I do not have any back up". Leo yelled. "Thanks for that Leo". I said. "Well right now you look like a scared little kitten". He said. "Go ahead I don't think your quite finished". I shouted at him. His face goes soft. "Cassie I'm-". Marcus cuts him off. "Guys Leo's right. I don't want you to get in trouble. Maybe you should go home. But at least grab some yogurt before you go". He said, I nod. "That's fear enough". I said. I show the bionics over to the counter to get some yogurt. Adam got excited. "So many toppings to choose from". He said. After they get their yogurt we head back to the parking lot. But there's no car or Leo in sight. "Where's Leo?". Bree asked. "More importantly where's the car?". Chase asked. "Even more importantly where are the napkins?". Adam asked. I rolled my eyes. "There in your pocket Adam". I said. "Leo probably went for a joyride. I'll just call my dad to come pick us up. He's been dying to meet you guys!". Marcus took his phone out. Bree's rung that very moment. "It's Leo". She said. I sighed in relief. "Leo where are you?". She asked, please just be taking a joyride. "Guys Leo's in trouble, we have to go help him, sorry Marcus". Bree said. "Wait you guys can't go yet. We haven't taken a picture with the Fro-yo-a-go-go-do-do". Marcus said with a hint of desperation in his voice. "Oh right!". Adam said. We all took a picture. "Ohh Cassie you and Chase look so cute". Bree said. "It's not the time Bree, Leo's needs our help". I reminded her. The bionics leave while I stay behind with Marcus for the second time today. "Marcus did you see what happened?". I asked. "No nothing I was to busy taking a selfie with the Fro-yo-a-go-go-do-do". He said. Then took out his phone showing me the photo. "Okay if you hear anything please let me know, Leo's my best friend I can't lose him". I said. "Sounds like he made you pretty upset before". Marcus said. "It was nothing Leo was just being Leo". I said. "Are you sure?". Marcus asked. "Well okay so it wasn't nothing, I'm so sick of Leo treating me like, well nothing, ever since Adam, Bree and Chase have come into his life he's ignored me". I said. "I'm sure it'll all blow over". Marcus assured me. "Thanks Marcus". I said. "Ohh it's no problem bunny". He said. "Bunny?". I questioned, I've heard that name before. "Ohh sorry did I say bunny, I meant Cassie, well I gotta go". He said and got up and left. That's the second time he's done that to me today. Bunny, why is that so familiar.
