"I've got to go." I tried to give Harvey the message that I was gonna need his help because I knew that something bad was going to happen, and I needed him close. I needed to get out of there fast. "Leah, wait! What's up?!" Harvey grabbed my arm as I turned around to run and looked at me with panic. I pulled away and looked for a door without loads of people people surrounding it. There were too many people at all of the doors so I had to go upstairs. I shut myself in Olivia's room. Although it was quiet, I could still hear the music and talking downstairs. Worrying, tears flooded my eyes and I sat on the edge of the bed, holding my head in my hands. Thoughts that I'd been keeping out of my head for so long made their way back to me and I started to shake with fear. Why was he here? I didn't want him to be here.
"Hello gorgeous." Great. He found me. I refused to look up at him. I started fidgeting with my hands and carried on staring at the floor. "What do you want Dylan?" I wiped my eyes and sniffed. "Aww someone's upset? I'll help you with that." He grabbed my arm which forced me to stand up, pulling me close to him. I carried on looking at the floor, I didn't want to face him. He pulled my chin up and tried to kiss me, but my adrenaline forced me to slap him, which he deserved. He looked back at me with a psychotic smile. "You really want to do that? That's gonna make me want you more." I tried to run away but he pulled me back and pushed me against the opposite wall. "Now you've got nowhere to run." He put one of his hands on the wall next to me and the other was on my arm, stopping me to leave. As he leaned in to kiss me someone opened the door. "GET OFF OF HER DYLAN!" I recognised this voice, although I couldn't see past Dylan I knew it was Harvey, and I was glad to have him here. Dylan moved away from me in shock, allowing me to see that it wasn't Harvey. It was Max. "WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT RESPECT? YOU NEED TO LEAVE, BEFORE I DO SOMETHING TO YOU THAT WILL MAKE YOU REGRET THIS." This was a different side of Max that I'd never seen before, but the fact that he'd just stuck up for me made all the feelings I had for him come back. How did he know Dylan was going to be here? He wasn't even at the party. Maybe Dylan told him, but he didn't have chance to stop him until now.
Dylan left and I hoped he didn't have any confidence left to come back. He shut the door, and then it was just me and Max in the room. "Thank you for this, Max. If you hadn't have been here, I don't know what would have happened. But I know it wouldn't have been good." I looked at him and smiled, but he avoided my eye contact and stared at the floor. He'd just stuck up for me, but did he still hate me?
"I've got to get out of here. I don't want to be here any more." Max ran out of the door. "Max wait!" I stopped door from shutting behind him and followed him, but there was too many people I had to get past which caused me to start to loose him through the crowd. Going through the living room the loud beats crashed into my ears, making it harder for me to concentrate on where Max was. He had left the house, so I followed him. It was cold and dark, and I could see his silhouette getting smaller the further he went. The music was getting quieter, but the beats were still loud. "MAX! WAIT!" Every bit of anger and energy pushed its way out of my mouth. I had to get his attention and finally find out what was going on with us.
