Nothing Can Come Between Us

Part I

Your heart was thumping louder than the music playing in the background. It was about the leap out of your ribcage as you kept your gaze fixed on the ground. You wanted to be brave and look up to see if he was there or not. You wanted to see if he was waiting for you at the end of the aisle.

So you took a chance.

Gripping onto your father's arm tightly and taking a deep breath, you looked up.

You looked up to see him eagerly waiting for you. With unshed tears of happiness welling up in his eyes, they were glimmering with relief and hope.

Regret was evident in his eyes as you stood in front of him.

"You see the moon up there?" He asked as you were cuddled up in his embrace as both of you sat on the roof.
 

You hummed in response and he hugged you tighter, "I love you till moon and back."

A warm feeling boomed in your chest and curiosity bubbled in your mind, "Why till moon?"

He chuckled softly, "Because my sweetheart, a human heart in a lifetime pumps blood which is equivalent to the amount of fuel required to travel to moon and back. So I love you with all my heart and soul and life."

"Did you ever love me?!" You asked incredulously while grabbing onto his forearms shaking his whole frame and demanded answers.
 

Both of you were on your knees neither having energy to face the situation.

"Di-did you?" Those words were mere whispers hung in silence as your eyes begged him to say something.  

Not getting an answer, your heart shattered, "Please tell me this is a dream." You threw your arms around his neck wanting him to deny, "Wake me up from this nightmare, please."
