Hey guys, it’s Shreya! Here’s chapter 2. And thanks for 40 reads on ch 1!! That’s so cool. :) Hope you like this one! If you wanna listen to a song while you read this chapter, listen to “Not Over You” -- Gavin Degraw.
“Thank you,” Tyler said, handing the driver a tip. He looked at the yellow taxi, waved, and headed into his apartment. His home sweet home.
He waved hi to a few neighbors, who were glad he was back. He got to his room, and went inside, excited. He was finally back! After two weeks in weeks in Michigan, which had been totally fun by the way, he could get back to social media. Tyler had forgotten his phone when he went to the airport two weeks ago, and he hadn’t had enough time to go back for it. He decided that he would just take two weeks off of social media, and only logged on tumblr to queue a few posts so his followers wouldn’t be disappointed. His people knew he was going to Michigan, and so they didn’t expect any videos from him anyway.
He sighed, and left his suitcase next to the sofa. He would unpack that later. First, he collapsed on the gray couch he had missed so much, found his phone, took his laptop out, and got ready for some much needed Tumblr time.
I’m backkkkkk!!! He tweeted excitedly. Then he checked his instagram, and sat down with tumblr. As it was taking forever to load, he decided to check his email, knowing that there wouldn’t be much new.
But there was.
There was an email from a certain youtuber, one that Tyler has complicated feelings towards. A certain youtuber with an australian accent. A beautiful australian accent, Tyler corrected himself. His heart started beating faster and he laughed, but then his smile disappeared as he realized he was really happy to see that certain someone in his email. Very happy. Too happy, almost, Tyler thought, and his heart sank.
Tyler laughed at himself. He didn’t like Troye, right?
Right, he told himself. You broke up with him. Even if you did like him, he would never take you back. And Tyler knew that was true, because he had broken up with Troye, 3 months ago. The pair were still friends, but nothing on how they were before. They used to be as close as peas in a pod, as their parents called them, and now they were still peas, just from different pods, seeing each other only when their pods were in the same bag. Tyler laughed at how bad of a metaphor that was.
He clicked on the email and it opened. Troye had sent him a video. He checked the date and saw that it was from two weeks ago, right after leaving from Michigan. Tyler instantly felt bad. What if Troye was still waiting for his reply? He played the video.
A smiling Troye appeared on the screen.
“Hey Tilly!!”
Troye did that thing where he puts his hands under his chin and smiles. It was damn adorable, Tyler thought, then laughed. Not this again. He was not into Troye.
“So,” Troye continued in the video, “I just was thinking about something for awhile, and I just thought that I should probably tell you. I wanna be the kind of person who fights for what they want, so, um, here we go.”
Tyler wondered what Troye possibly had to tell him. Troye was doing that thing where he twisted his fingers weirdly, as if they were made of rubber. Troye only did that in two situations: when he was scared, or when he was excited. Suddenly, the Troye on Tyler’s screen started to sing.
Tyler listened closely to the song as Troye started. “Dreams, that’s where I have to go.”
“Oh!” Tyler said out loud, then quieted. Even though Troye had an amazing EP, TRXYE, which was #1 in many countries, Tyler loved hearing Troye's voice a cappella, or in this case, with just a piano.
As Troye started singing the chorus, Tyler recognized the song. “If you ask me how I’m doing, I would say I’m doing fine.” Not Over You, Tyler remembered. Wait, what? Tyler loved this song. Loved it. He started singing along, belting the words. He laughed sadly as he imagined Troye being here with him, singing along.
But Tyler wasn’t quite sure why Troye was singing this particular song to him. He thought Troye might have sent it to the wrong person, but he said Tilly in the beginning, Tyler’s nickname.
But the song was about someone not being over their ex, and--
OH.
Did Troye like Tyler back? Tyler wasn’t sure. To be truthful, Tyler guessed that Troye did want him back, as he made it pretty obvious in his song choice, but Tyler wasn’t sure that he even liked Troye! Ok, maybe the thought of him made Tyler’s stomach do a few somersaults and then a few backflips on that little beam that gymnasts do tricks on, and the sight of Troye made Tyler wish he was always here in his arms, and maybe the way he smiled and laughed made Tyler wish that he could always make Troye laugh like that, and Troye was kind, and funny, and talented and amazing, and -
Oh, no. OH NO, Tyler thought, OH NO I am not going to fall for this adorable boy over again, I’m just going to break his heart again, and I can’t do that to him, it’s not fair, and on and on Tyler rambled in his head, reasons that he didn’t and wouldn’t like Troye. But there was a teeny voice in the very corner of his head, saying You like Troye.
And somewhere in him, in the deepest part of Tyler’s heart where no one except him had access too, he knew that voice was right.
So, I hope you liked it! Please don’t forget to vote, and definitely comment! I wanna hear what u want to happen. Or you can just comment how awesome my story is and I’ll tell you how awesome you are. :) (or you can say how terrible it is it’s okay constructive criticism is good too)
Have a great day!!
