That afternoon, at Enchanica Castle, Roland was sharing memories about Lorelei with Amber and James.

"This was her favorite locket," Roland said. "She only wore it for special occasions." He handed the locket to Amber.

"And now I'm only going to wear it for special occasions," Amber said. "Thanks, Daddy." She opened the locket to find a picture of Lorelei.

Roland took out an old pocket watch. "This was her pocket watch," he said, handing it to James.

"Thanks, Dad," James smiled. He opened the pocket watch to find that because it was old, it wasn't setting the right time. "A little fixing, and it'll be working again."

"Great to hear," Roland smiled. He took out a green book with the word "Diary" on the front cover. "This is her diary."

Roland handed the diary to Amber and James, who read entries in it.

Sofia and Hugo were watching the twins have fun learning about their mother.

"This is definitely a perfect way for Amber and James to get to know their mother," Sofia said.

"It sure is, and making a wish to get something you want isn't always worth losing something you already have," Hugo said.

"Nope," Sofia agreed. "It's also not worth making other people miserable or get them to forget someone ever came into their lives."

"Speaking of which, we're still on for our date tonight, aren't we?" Hugo asked.

"Yes, we are," Sofia nodded.

That night, Sofia and Hugo were at the theater, watching the play Cinderella Mermaid, and it was a beautiful love story. They liked how Cinderella's voice was in place of the glass slipper since mermaids don't have feet.

After that, Hugo took Sofia home in his flying coach, happy to have spent the night with her.

"Thanks, Hugo," Sofia smiled. She kissed Hugo on the cheek and got down from the coach. "Good night."

"Good night, Sofie," Hugo waved.

The coach took off to Hugo's home, and Amber and James came out, happy to see their sister.

"Sofia, how was your date?" Amber asked.

"It was great—because mermaids don't have feet, there was no glass slipper for Cinderella Mermaid to lose, so they used her voice to find her," Sofia smiled. "So how was your night?"

"It was great," James smiled. "Dad told us lots of stories about our birth mother."

"Her fate may not be a secret from us or Hugo's family anymore, but maybe we should keep it a secret from everyone else," Amber suggested.

"You have a point—who knows what everyone will say if they knew Dad used magic to make her have children?" Sofia asked.

"Let's just be happy that everything is back to the way it was—at least before you broke up with Hugo," James said.

"Good point," Sofia smiled. "Plus, who knows if Dad will ever make his third wish in that Wishing Well?"

"I don't think he ever will since he hates it so much because it made his first wish go a bit wrong," Amber declared.

"Well, let's not worry about that," Sofia said. "You should tell me what Dad told you about Lorelei once we get in our jammies."

"Right," James agreed.

Once the young royals got in their pajamas, Amber and James told Sofia what Roland told them about Lorelei.

Amber and James were sad that they never actually met their mother, but if wishing her back to life meant losing everything they had and making their friends lose what Sofia blessed them with, then it was best to leave everything the way it is. Sometimes things have to be the way they are because they could be there for a reason.
