The small blonde started cleaning up her counter humming along to the songs softly. "You nervous about tomorrow?" Kate interrupted. "Avril?" Her manager said walking over to them "I'm gonna need you to come in ten minutes early, and let her in." "Who?" Avril played it dumb but inside she was shaking. "Look I don't really care if you and Avril haven't seen each other in ten or so years but I need you to open okay?" "I can do it." "Fine." Avril looked at Kate grateful, Taylor glared at her as she walked out of the bar. "Jesus you are a wreck. What went down between you two?" Avril closed her eyes for a minute trying not to have memories. "I don't wanna talk about it." She walked out with her to their car and waited for Kate to lock up.
The next morning Kate left early and Avril laid in bed not wanting to go into work. She put in headphones and listened to Head Above Water. The only song Avril released. Her phone buzzed with a text from an unknown number.
-Hey it's me. Are you coming by the shop today?
Avril frowned thinking it was Avril, she wanted to respond but thought it was a bad idea as she got ready for work.
The drive to work seemed long, it was probably her nerves kicking in. A black SUV was pulled up by the coffee shop. Kate already let her in
-She's here and she's amazing oh my god.
Avril froze in her car. "I'll go in from the back." She whispered. Kate frowned once she saw her walk in from the back door." "What's wrong?" "Well Kate I'm not exactly ready to meet her yet." Avril spat it out." "Okay just stay back here." "Who ya talkin to?" Avril's heart sank to the floor once she heard her twins voice she hid against the wall. "You're being ridiculous." "Shh. "Oh just myself Avril." Kate walked out. After a while Avril peeked around the wall and caught a glimpse of the blonde. She changed, and became more beautiful if that were possible. People started filling the room. "We need your help. She won't see you." "She's literally right over there Kate." Avril sighed taking an order from a customer.
"So you said she's sweet?" "Yes, you're the complete opposite." "What's that supposed to mean?!" Avril said a little too loudly people over heard her including the blonde singer. "Well now she knows. But it's time for her to go on anyways. Don't forget your order." Avril went to hand the his order. On the way back to the counter Avril kept her eyes down walking past Avril. "Okay can I get everyone's attention?" Avril touched her twins arm softly making Avril glance up blushing. She saw a almost a sad smile on the singer's face. "We have a special performance today." Avril pulled her twin close to whisper in her ear "Are you staying?" "I have to." As the shorter woman pulled back softly she saw a single tear fall down her cheek. "Avril Lavigne."
Avril hung back in the corner and looked at her twin before "I don't want you to have to." She said trying to keep it together before going on stage. Once Avril took the stage and Kate joined her friend by the wall the woman shook her head. "Unbelievable." "What?" "Nothing." Avril muttered watching Avril set up.
