I step off the train, standing on the docking platform I stretch my arms up over my head as far as they'd go. 'My new home, Fiore. First stop, Hargeon.' This isn't actually my true destination, however that's only the next town over. I'd gotten off the train early due to the already 7 hour train ride. I wanted to stretch my legs and get use to the area that I'd now be calling home.
Picking up my bag from the luggage storage I take a deep breathe. 'Smells so fresh', the sun is shining with brilliance and a cool breeze passes by. It was nice, to finally be free from my father's constant nagging, wanting me to take over the family business. To fill my role as his daughter and give him a grandchild deserving of being called his heir. I sighed with the thought 'politics isn't my thing, at least that kind.'
At least mother always wanted me to follow my heart.. unlike her. She was married off to my father, even though they were deeply in love.. My mother gave up her dreams of writing to raise me. The truth became clear once she'd passed away. I was a disappointment by gender, Father through himself into work and I was left alone. So I took to learning about the sky, something that made me feel free.
"Show me your 'dreams' are worth the money I paid, or you'll return to the Heartfilia mansion and fulfill your roll in the company's future." Father's stern words still lingering in my mind..
I walked through town, taking in the beautiful scenery. It was like something out of a child's story book, little shops and little cottages. I found myself making my way through the town's center when a loud bell rang out.
"Fire! There's a Fire!" A man comes running by.
"Help! My daughters still in there!" A woman cries out as the two clutch to each other in fear. People start to crowd around as I'm watching the little bakery start to engulf in flames.
"Yeah, hurry. I'm already hear. I'll start moving pedestrians to safety." A man to my left says on his phone. His features catch my eyes, "Whoa" his body seems to be well built, he has a red symbol tattooed above and under his right eye, with blue hair. He starts directing the crowd of people to back away. He flashes a badge to the couple who's weeping for the safety of their child. In the next second a siren blares through the air, a large fire truck slams into park as three men jump out.
The fire is quickly put under wraps, as the firefighter who'd rushed into the now smoldering bakery finally emerges. He's carrying a tiny child tightly wrapped in his arms. They care for the child accordingly, the ambulance soon shows up and takes the child along with her parents to the hospital.
I sigh out of relief for the little family, I'm sure the little girl will pull through. As I make my way past the cop and the one firefighter chatting.. the firefighter steps back, bumping into me causing me to trip. I squeeze my eyes tightly shut and embrace for the hard fall. However, "Miss you alright?" A husky voice calls out, I realize that I'm in a warm embrace.. "Wh- uh. I'm sorry!" I say as I stand up and dust at my skirt. When I look up, my gaze is met with a onyx green set of eyes with a toothy grin. My cheeks start to heat up, 'h-he's so handsome!' I coo within my thoughts.
"Ma'am?"
I shake the thought and with a stutter, "I-I'm fine, Thank you!." I smile softly at him, our eyes still locked. For a moment its almost as if a zing of true fate flickered across our eyes.. 'Heh, yeah right. Lucy get your head out of the clouds.' I think to myself as we bow and say our goodbyes.
