I woke up and got ready to head to the quarry to meet up with the rest of the losers. I put on my bathingsuit and then a dress over it. I walked out of my house and grabbed my bike and started pedaling towards the quarry. On my way there Bev rode up behind me. "Hey y/n" she said. "Oh hey Bev, ready to swim?" I asked. "Yeah I cant wait". We rode together side my side until we got to the quarry. We dropped our bikes while Bill said out loud "who's first?". "I'll go" Bev and I said at the same time. We looked at each other with a little smile and took off our dresses revealing our bathingsuits. We ran together and jumped off the cliff and into the water. "Come on" Bev yelled. "The water feels great" I yelled after. The boys started jumping in one after another. We all played in the water, splashing and having fun. While Eddie, Richie, and Stan were splashing each other I noticed Bev looking at Bill and smiling. She likes him! I was happy since Bill has liked her for a long time, but I looked away to where Ben was. He seemed to be admiring Beverly. I wouldnt be surprised if he likes her, I just hope he can take heartbreak well.

"Something just touched my foot" Richie called out. "What is it?". "A turtle".

We all got out of the water and relaxed on the rocks while listening to music. The boys sat on the rocks, Bev laid on her towel, and I stood up staring at the trees. I had this weird feeling someone was watching us. I heard movement behind me. I turned around to see all the boys turn there heads except Richie. He had his eyes glued right on me. I shook my head and walked over and sat in between Richie and Stan. Richie was going through Ben's backpack. "New's flash Ben schools out for summer". "That's not school stuff" Ben replied. I looked over Richie's shoulder while he pulled out a postcard from Ben's bag. "Who sent you this" Richie asked Ben. "No one" Ben said grabbing the card out of Richie's hands quickly. He pulled it away to quick to read what it said, but I saw who it was for. Bev.

Richie pulled out a folder and passed it around. "What's with the histoy project?" Eddie asked. "Oh well when I first moved here I didnt really have anyone I knew, so I just started spending time in the library" Ben explained. "You went to the library, on purpose?" Richie questioned. I shook my head and passed the folder to Bill. "I wanna see" Bev said standing up and sitting next to Bill. While Eddie and Stan talked about what happened at the black spot Bill was trying his best to compliment Bev. "Your-your hair" he said while Bev stared at him. Richie and I watched to see what he'd say. Before he could finish it Ben came in. "Your-your hair is beautiful Beverly". "Oh right, thanks" she said back pushing her hair back. Bill gave Ben a glare while he smiled, I tried to hold in how I felt. I was either cringing or on the verge of letting out a laugh, but I held it in cause I did not want to make it more awkward. "Here pass it" Richie said while I put my head on his shoulder. "Why's it all murders and missing kids?". "Derry's not like any town I've been in before, they did a study once, and it turns out people die or dissappear six times the national average". "You read that?" Bev asked. "And thats just grown ups, kids are worse. Way way worse. I got more stuff if you want to see it" he said looking at all of us one by one. Eddie quickly shook his head while Richie looked at me for an answer. I looked back unsure. "I'm up for it, if you guys are" I said out loud. "L-l-lets go then" Bill said. We all put our clothes back on and headed to Ben's house.

Once we got to Ben's house we dropped our bikes in the front and went inside. We all walked into Ben's room which was filled with papers all over the walls. Each one of us walked around admiring each paper, well not all of us. "Cool huh?" Ben said. "No no. Nothing cool, there's nothing cool" Richie said. "Well this is cool, oh wait no it's not cool" Eddie said. "What's that" Stan asked pointing at one of the papers on the wall. I walked over to get a closer look. "Oh that, that's the charter for Derry township. It's interesting Derry started as a beaver trapping camp" Ben explained. "Still is, am I right boys?" Richie said raising his hand. I grabbed it and pulled it down. "Not now" I said giving him a look. "91 people signed the charter that made Derry. Later that winter they all disappeared without a trace".  "The entire camp?" Eddie asked. "There were rumors of Indians , but no sign of attack" While Ben kept talking I noticed a face in one of the pictures he had on the wall. A clowns face. It can't be the same clown I saw. "Where was the well house" Bill asked. "I don't know somewhere in town I guess, why?" Ben asked. "Nothing" Bill replied looking at the missing pictures on Ben's wall. I dont even need to ask him what he was thinking about, I already knew what was on his mind. We walked out of Ben's house, everyone started leaving, but I caught Bill before he did.

y/n- Bill?

Bill- y-yeah y/n

y/n- I-nevermind. I forgot.

I said looking down. I didnt forget, I just didnt have the courage to tell him what we both thought. I'd rather wait till sommeone else brings it up.

Bill- Oh o-okay. If you remeber j-just call me

We said our goodbyes and went our seperate ways. Richie rode home with me. We got to my front porch and stood there. "That was crazy back at Ben's. Like what kid has a bunch of missing posters in there room, that's weird. Right?". I wasn't in the mood to talk. I was in a deep thought about everything. "It hurts". "What?" Richie asked confused. "I miss her Richie, and inside I think it's my fault she's missing" I blurted out to him. "But it's not your fault". "But just think about it Richie. If I was home I could've walked her to her friends house, I could've made sure she made it there alright and she wouldn't be missing right now". "Y/n none of this is your fault, you're just overthinking". "Am I? If I wasn't out with you I would've been home and everything would've went differently". "So what? Are you saying this is my fault?" he asked not only confused but aggravated. "I'm saying that maybe I'm not fit right now to be in a relationship" I said out loud. I can't even tell if what I was saying was even coming out of my own mouth anymore. I don't want to break up with Richie, yet here I am. I could see the hurt in his eyes. "Your breaking up with me?" he asked quietly. I felt tears in my eyes. "I just think it's best that we take a break, until I get some closure on what happened to s/n" I said calmly hoping Richie would understand. He shook his head. "If that's what you want" he said quickly, he then turned around grabbed his bike and rode off before I could say another word. I went inside, closed the door, and looked at the ring Richie got me that I still wore. I might've just made a big mistake.
