All men are pigs.

A perfect example would be Chase; my ex boyfriend. Our one year relationship meant nothing to him. If it had meant something, I wouldn't have found him and my sister, naked, wrapped around her bedsheets together.

In the end, I wasn't even surprised. She has slept with more than fifty percent of the male population, single or not. But I wouldn't say that I wasn't hurt because if I did, I would be lying.

I allowed the tears to slip down my face as my fists pounded against my best friend's door. Ember's grumbles could be heard from behind the door but I was too busy crying to give two fucks. As the door slid open, I launched myself at her.

"Hey! What's wrong?" Ember asked, concern lacing her voice.

I nuzzled my face further into her shoulder as a response. She didn't question me further but instead just held me as I cried my heart out. She didn't complain when whale-like sobs escaped my mouth. She didn't complain when I wiped my snot on her favorite pj top. And most importantly, she didn't complain when she had to carry all 120 pounds of me into her living room.

As the sobs died out, she sat across from me, her eyes boring into me. She knew who was the reason of my mental breakdown.

Her lips thinned into a straight line while she patiently waited for me to speak. Silence engulfed us with the exception of a few sniffles from me here and there.

"You were right. Men are worst than dogs because at least dogs are loyal." Her expression morphed into an enraged one.

"Do I need to take out my shotgun?" Ember questioned, her voice dangerously low. I would have laughed if she was joking, but I knew better. She wasn't joking. Ember had disliked Chase from the beginning. Maybe she knew that someday he would betray me.

I shook my head in response causing Ember to let out a disappointed sigh. She mumbled something along the lines of 'I'll get him next time'.

Ember hauled herself up and disappeared into the kitchen. She returned a few minutes later with a glass of water which I gladly accepted with a 'thank you'.

"Ready to talk?" She questioned.

I nod my head in response, downing the entire glass of water. But my throat turned dry again as I started recalling the events of today. Recollecting myself, I started talking.

Earlier that day

I skimmed through the stacks of papers that my good for nothing boss left for me as he spent the weekend at New York probably shagging some random girl.

The blaring ringtone of my phone echoed throughout the office, causing me to jump slightly. Chase's name flashed across the screen causing my lips to tug upwards. I eagerly answered the call.

"Hello?" Chase's deep voice reached my ears causing a swarm of butterflies to flutter around in my stomach.

"Hey babe." I replied a little breathless, a smile splaying across my face.

"Where are you? I am inside your apartment waiting for you." He stated causing my eyes to widen.

Oh crap! We had a movie date tonight. "I'm sorry, but I won't be able to make it tonight My boss left a huge pile of files for me which need to be finished by midnight." My voice sounded dejected.

"It's okay babe, just finish your work. We can go on date tomorrow, yeah?" He stated soothingly.

"Yeah, tomorrow and I promise I will make it up to you. We can do whatever you want." My voice came out sultry. I heard him groan which made me chuckle.
