Godslayer

I'm a god-slayer,
killing religion prayer by prayer.

They twist your sight, lead you astray,
an altered course from the break of day.
Don't force your hopes is all I'll say...

Is it the philosophies that they sell,
but I see no difference 'tween Heaven and Hell?

So watch their dusk enter your dawn,
trying to believe you'll be reborn,
finding release in any form.

And even the fables that we're fed
leave so many truths unsaid.

So open your eyes to the freedom I sell,
enchant your eye and cast my spell.
As I travel on to tell...

I'm a godslayer,
killing their religions layer by layer;

for it was I who told
the stories that the prophets sold.
