Battle of the bands

Chapter 1.

Alyssa's POV

Charlie just finished posting our cover of 'I just wanna live' onto our YouTube channel.

"Ok done" she sighed leaning back into her chair.

"Ok baby can you get the chips?" Jade asked.

That's my que, the annoying nickname they have given me my whole life I thought standing up and replying "Sure" before jogging out of Charlie's bedroom to get the chips.

"Hey Julia" I greeted Claudia's mum who was walking into her office

"Hi sweetie" she replied before continuing out of the kitchen.

We had been practising and recording for about 2 hours and Julia had gone out to get us food. We are always hungry. Well I am I don't know about the rest of them.

So if you haven't worked it out by now me and my 3 best friends Charlie, Jade and Natalie are in a band. We kind of 'formed' it when were much younger and a year ago decided to actually do something with it.

We've never thought of a name just kind of had it. You see the girls and I live in the same neighbourhood and our parents were friends in school so we were automatically assigned to be best friends.

Although we are all different ages. Charlie is 16, Jade is 15 and so is Natalie. And that leaves me Alyssa the youngest 13. That's what earned me that nickname. Since they day I was born everyone has always referred to me as "baby or the baby" I don't really mind it but it can get a bit embarrassing because everyone is so used to saying 'baby' that when they accidentally call me that in public it's a bit embarrassing.

So about a 2 years ago after we formed the band and we decided to make a YouTube channel about 6 months after, just for fun, you know as you do. (sarcasm intended) anyways so at first we barely had any views and our videos were short covers and stuff but gradually our views grew and we started to get subscribers. And now over a year later we have around 25,000 subscribers.

It's pretty cool but puts a lot of pressure on us to make more and better videos for our waiting viewers.

"Alyssa" someone called

"huh" I looked up to see Natalie staring at me.

"You kind of zoned out" she said smirking. "Oops" I smiles sheepishly. I tend to do that a lot, I've always been a daydreamer.

Thinking about stuff. Anything really. Like right now our 'life story'. I skipped back into the garage aka our super-mega-awesome-band-girl room

"Baby" Charlie called.

"Charlie!" I shouted dramatically and pretended to run towards her in slow motion.

She opened her arms ready for me to jump into them. When I was about 2 feet away I jumped and landed in her lap, earning a few groans and then laughter.

Charlie is the lead singer of our band she also plays the guitar, Natalie plays the bass and sings, Jade also plays the guitar, keyboard and sings. And then there leaves me the greatest person in the whole wide world!

Jokes.

I play the drums. Yeah that's about it. I can't really sing. I can rap though. So whenever we do Eminem or Macklemore songs I get to rap. So other than talking I get to actually use my voice in our videos.

Snap back to reality right now we have all gone quiet and are focusing on the tv in front of us. (See what I did there)

It's really late and I can see everyone slowly drifting off. Woohoo prank time. I could stay awake all night if I wanted to but I would just be super grumpy the next day so I decided I would try and play a prank. I'm not much of a prankster but today was our 100th video so eh why not a bit of celebrational (my new word) prank.

After another half an hour of the boring movie everyone was knocked out. I pulled my long blonde hair into a bun to avoid getting it tangled.

MWAHAHAHAHA the prank begins. I tip toed into the kitchen making sure not to wake Charlie's parents or little brother. That's another thing you may want to know all the girls have younger siblings except for myself.

Lonely, only child.

I opened up the fridge only to have the milk fall straight out catching me by surprise I jumped up onto the counter.

"Hiaaaayaaahh" I shouted once I landed "I'm a ninja so you'd better back off" I said to the milk carton on the floor making ninja-like movements with my hands.

I quietly hopped off the counter and onto the floor grabbing the mayonnaise from the fridge door and pushing the milk into the packed fridge. I was having trouble closing the door to the refrigerator but with one hard shove it finally closed.

Someone is gonna have a problem tomorrow morning I thought suspiciously as I walked back into the garage.

Only a minor prank for tonight just because I'm so nice. I squeezed mayonnaise all over the front part of Charlie's shorts and then all over Natalie's face and then in Jade's hair.

"oops" I whispered when closing the lid.

I hid the mayonnaise behind my drum kit but because I'm such a big clutz I tripped over my stools and fell back onto them knocking the ride cymbal and creating a loud smash.

I closed my eyes praying that they didn't hear anything. When I opened them the lights were on and Jade was standing in front of me with a video camera.

"No Jade what are you doing" I shouted covering my face trying to avoid my scruffy face in the camera

"That's what happens when you try and prank us" Jade said empathising the word try.

"Aw man" I sighed disappointed while they all started laughing.

"This is going on YouTube" Natalie said talking the camera.

"No please!" I shouted chasing after her. "Help me guys" she shouted when I almost caught her.

I felt Jade and Charlie grab my arms and dragged me to Charlie's bedroom where they locked the door and got changed.

"Oh my gosh I hate you Elyse! It's not coming out of my hair!" Shouted Jade from the bathroom.

"Soorry" I sang smirking.

About 10 minutes later when Charlie had new clothes on and Jade had cleaned hr hair they gave me a pretend smack on the bum.

"Naughty baby" Charlie whispered trying not to laugh.

I pretended to pout as Jade opened the door.

"And it is posted" Natalie shouted proud of herself.

"Shut up Nat you're gonna wake up my parents" Charlie scolded.

"Too late" said two voices.

We all turned to the left to see Julia and Charlie's dad Rob watching us in humour.

"Ok girls you've had your fun, no get your butts to bed" laughed Julia.

Just then realisation hit me, Natalie posted the video of YouTube!

"Nat you porcupine!" I shouted, lunging at her.

"Why did you post it" I yelled try to strangle her but it wasn't really working.

"Oh well" she laughed pushing me off easily and standing up. "Let's go to bed".

We walked lazily back into the garage "Shot gun!" I screamed jumping onto the cream coloured couch in the corner of the room.

"You can't shot gun a couch" Natalie said to me. I stuck my tongue out at her and got comfy.

"Goodnight my precious" I sang and received a choruses of "goodnights" back.

"Love the enthusiasm" I said sarcastically.

"Shut up and go to sleep" Charlie whisper yelled.

"Ok" I sighed.

I lay there for about 20 minutes before my brain finally stopped thinking and let me fall asleep. My last thought being 'I need to delete that video'.
